    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

MagicBands were launched the year before Apple Pay, which is just kind of crazy to think about. I think the relatively lower usage here has a lot to do with the fact that people were already in the habit of using their phones for this stuff by the time it was introduced in its limited form...

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Yeah but where are those camera tvs along the ramp that you could make funny faces for? That was peak themed entertainment.

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Yeah, I think the Space Mountain moving walkway is potentially a bigger loss than the river. There’s no doubt the Haunted Mansion area will suffer from it, and that concerns me, but otherwise I’m pretty optimistic that the Cars area and villains land will be a better use of the space.

EPCOT 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

This is quite literally the lamest playground I’ve ever seen.

DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Yeah but that artwork just copied and pasted the dark ride building from Tokyo so it’s not really indicative of what this much taller one will look like. Of course I hope it’s fully themed!

EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

That’s not a bad thing. The industrial look fit the edgy tone and concept of the ride much better than anything they’ve done with it since. Version 2 and 3 are good in their own right but not everything needs to be a dark ride.

DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

I think the Muppets are a dated form of slapstick humor that just does not resonate with younger people. The last handful of shows have been cancelled after one season due to low viewership, Including the most recent Electric Mayhem one. Aerosmith couldn’t stick around forever, but it had a...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

The founder is truly a passionate hot dog man. And they’ve been $1.50 since they started in 1985. I love it.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

I’ve had it and yeah it’s in the top echelon of hot dogs but just not my absolute favorite. Although different Costcos use different rolls and mine doesn’t use those Francisco sesame seed rolls which I’ve heard are quite good! And for the price, it’s absolutely better.

It’s the best hot dog I’ve ever had. I get the plain one and then just put ketchup on it.

I have never disagreed with a single sentence so passionately as this one you have written.

Or they’ll just leave the name of the park as is, since it’s still a perfectly solid name with a strong brand recognition. I’m not sure anyone goes to Six Flags Over Texas and wonders what Batman is doing down there.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

I expect this’ll probably be far closer to Super Nintendo World or Diagon Alley*, than anything Disney has built before, in its scale and feel. And that will probably actually be great, since they can create exactly the view they want guests to have for that big reveal and wow moment. The...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

By the hot set concept, it doesn’t mean they’d have any visible show buildings, steel girders, broken forced perspective, etc. like they’d do in the 90s. It’s just how the entrance to the area would be vaguely presented from the Hollywood street or maybe only mentioned in a press release or...

DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

It doesn’t look like this has been mentioned yet, but both versions of the concept art just use the Tokyo Monsters Inc ride building, which is obviously not what will be built here. The door coaster show building will be a lot taller and hopefully won’t hurt the look of the factory facade.

Tough morning for billboards! Otherwise the new art looks pretty great.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

Oh yeah that’s for sure where the show building is going, but I just think those rings may be in front of the Hyperion, not the ride show building and monorail track. We’ll find out soon enough.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

I’m guessing those rings will be just large enough to block the Hyperion building. The layout of the concept art matches almost perfectly with the existing layout. They’ll reuse the animation building on the right for dining/shopping/etc, turn the backlot stage on the left into that pond area...
