Now that the proxy war is over, who SHOULD be the next CEO of Disney? (assuming Bob Iger actually leaves in 2026...)

From outside the present company, Tom Staggs. From inside, Dana Walden. I suspect it will actually be Dana Walden so Iger can keep his hooks into the company.

News New Buses Debut With Features to Better Accommodate ECV/Wheelchair Users

Didn't matter when I was driving. Any Disney bus (with the exception specialty buses and there are only a handful of those) of need the ability to go anywhere on property. Once you start adding buses to the fleet that cannot fulfill that function, it becomes an issue that can affect scheduling...

News New Buses Debut With Features to Better Accommodate ECV/Wheelchair Users

It's only marginally feasible given current electric bus design is. On a low floor, all the infrastructure is on the roof and that makes them just a bit too tall at MK to fit under the monorail beam. Because of ADA, all Disney is buying is low floor transit buses because they load so much faster...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Normal replacement cycle. I wouldn't be surprised if these were not ordered a while ago. Even Disney has to wait in line with Gillig. Buses are way easier to get than monorail trains.

News Hatbox Ghost coming to Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion

That's just too cruel. Main St Bistro was just as bad however, it was a heck of a lot closer for bus cast than the Mousecateria.

News Cast-to-guest pin trading returns to Walt Disney World after a three-year absence

When I was a CM, it was optional if the CM wanted to do pin trading or not. I know bus drivers who would participate but as much as I loved pins, I thought it would be a dangerous distraction and therefore did not participate. I did do bus trading cards but because they were not visible, I...

News New Main Street, U.S.A Costumes for Cast Members at Magic Kingdom

I wasn't a fan of the bus cast costume change at the time. Call me crazy but the purple pants made you bus cast. The current costumes do make bus cast look like professional drivers and take away the whimsey that told you that you are at Disney World. I will say that they really were not any...

News Bruce Vaughn Returns to Disney as Co-Lead of Walt Disney Imagineering

It's a real shame that the Show key is ignored by TWDC E-Suite. At one point show was hugely important.

News New Buses Debut With Features to Better Accommodate ECV/Wheelchair Users

Stroller as a wheelchair is more than just asking for the tag. There are standards that the stroller are supposed to meet to qualify. They used to be checked for compliance and you could easily tell a stroller that was certified VS. the standard stroller. Back when I was driving, I would...

Rumor Higher Speed Rail from MCO to Disney World

Utilitarian for sure. Basic transportation but where I got on, I always had a seat to Boston and usually had one for the ride home. Might have been SRO to the Aquarium and the boat was always a pleasant ride to and from the Navy Yard. Can't say now though as it's been 18 years since I did that.

Rumor Higher Speed Rail from MCO to Disney World

As well as the definition of system. I rode the MBTA commuter rail system for many years when I worked in Charlestown. It was affordable, it was just as fast as driving to the greater Boston area from the south and the schedules were actually pretty convenient. With a Zone 7 pass (the one for...
