Interactive Attractions in the Near Future

I'll bet in the immediate future we'll see a lot of those things roped off, or have a CM standing by. The interactive cues drove me nuts, do you wait? do you pass and feel like a jerk?

Should certain groups be given priority to attend the parks?

If you're thinking "let anyone in" the issue becomes people off site who drive up to the parking lot. They pay to park, go to bag check and are told "park's full" so then will Disney have a bunch exiting the park, trying to get parking fee refunded... So now they have to stop people before they...

Should certain groups be given priority to attend the parks?

I voted #1 just because people buying a "resort/ticket" package should get in before someone staying at an "off site" hotel. This is very similar to phased closing where resort guests get in and off site would be turned away. You can always stay at a value to guarantee admission if it's a...

Which attraction would you want to be barefoot on least?

Nope, nothing, noway, nohow, never, ever..... on nothing. My feet never touch the ground bare. (except for pool or beach - even then I'll wear swim shoes depending upon condition of beach) I get hives watching people at an airport in flip flops take them off and walk around through security...

Your view on old posts resurfacing lately

I tend to run into old threads searching for some new info. I also like to read how the thread morphed over time. Many times an old thread takes a serious left turn and no longer responds to the initial inquiry. But I've also been guilty of not looking at a date before responding.

Advice/experiences with 3 year old and 12 month old?

The first time we took our kids they were 2.5 and 4. We only had an umbrella stroller (quick easy to fold) and as an additional accessory - we brought my parents! They were fantastic, took the tired kids back to the room, DH and I could tour later into the night. Worked out great for us. Back...

Port Orleans: French Quarter or Riverside?

I've enjoyed staying at both, but for an anniversary I'd give the nod to Riverside. The mansions are romantic as well as the grounds. Love the Princess and Frog!!!!

Any pin trading tips for kids?

One other note: make sure your child asks to trade and not grab or touch anyones lanyard/book/pin board. Also check for pin boards at shops!

Favorite Restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Honestly, I find HS to have ho-hum sit-down restaurants. Yes great theme: sci-fi, but overall nothing outstanding. I do love 50's Prime Time: again IF you get a fab server (on our last visit there my friend had her elbow on the table and Uncle caught her, she had to stand with her nose holding...

June 1st reservations & just not sure

Totally changed my June 1st trip to a late August. Got a better deal on the room with the Sun/fun package. IMO it's far better to err on the side of caution, I just think June will be a cluster.

Statements about WDW that grind your gears

"Disney is for kids" - well I'm an adult and I pay for the trip and yes I like to have an adult drink. "I like the zoo at Disney World" - .:banghead: "We're going on Spring Break - no we didn't make reservations, we're just going to show up" - well have fun with that!

    Best Resorts

Value: Pop but Love AOA suites more (overall I can't love values because of the large groups that overwhelm them) Mod: POR love the theme Deluxe: Boardwalk (for proximity to Epcot) Treehouse villas (to get away from it all)

    Controversial/ Unpopular theme park opinions

I know this is odd but I really don't love the fireworks. I can't get excited about standing in a crowd, having my view blocked by a doofus with a GIANT Ipad he's hold up to film fireworks (why? just why? there's better pro videos all over the place!) We always try to get out of the parks well...

    Controversial/ Unpopular theme park opinions

My list of unpopular stuff: - Hate having to get FP to see a character, loved when characters roamed free (but that was ages ago when people had manners...) - I think it's really crappy that Disney started the "good neighbor" hotel stuff - giving them 60+ is BS. No wonder onsite people can't...

    Best Resort for Honeymoon

I love the Epcot resorts BC/YC walk to Epcot, lots of great dining there. Boardwalk has Jellyrolls, and fun stuff. I also will throw out a Contemporary vote. Walk to MK, great dining, we stayed in the "garden" room. It was very quiet and nice.

Worst hotel room view in all of Disney World?

I used to work in the hotel industry. I learned years ago that many times a hotel will "discount" crappy view rooms. I always ask for the "dumpster dive" view. And happily, most of the time I get a discount or sometimes a bump up to a real view. Honestly how much time do you really spend in...

Something needs to change with MK close on non Party Nights

I can honestly say I've stayed once for the fireworks. Most of the time if I'm at MK I beat feet to the bus and get the heck out of dodge! We have our route through the shops to avoid the MainStreet mob. I can't tolerate the mob scene during fireworks and parades. I have fond memories and...

Worst Attraction Fail/Malfunction you have seen?

A few years ago we ventured into Carousel of Progress. The theater began rotating and stopped... and stayed... the scene began to replay. We waited a bit, a CM came in and said it would be "a few minutes". By then we were done listening to the repeat of the scene and found the nearest exit.

What resort do you think you'll never stay at?

I've stayed at POP and AOA (cars suite), When we stayed at POP we had 3 adults in the room. It was ok. AOA we had 5 and it worked out just fine. I've done it, and never have to do it again. No way would I ever stay at All-star anything, screaming kids, large uncontrolled groups, forget it...
