    Please fix the monorail!

One thing I wish that they'd do, which they won't, would be to cross the Express and Epcot tracks just after the TTC. If they did that it'd make a lot more sense: Board at MK, get to TTC. If not getting off at TTC, then head for Epcot, which is likely what you'd be doing at that point. Epcot...

I heard that they were going to store wigs there.

News DeSantis moves to bring state safety oversight of the Walt Disney World Monorail including suspending the service for inspections

Re: Twitter (and other social media) The problem here is that the government (fed) has let them skate by without forcing them to define themselves. Are they a carrier or are they an editorial. A carrier is responsible for the communications method, not it's content. It's why you could call up...

Mickey vs Mario as pop culture icons?

The Mario movie of this year was, IMO, just an OK movie. There were some bright spots in it and a bunch of references to all things Nintendo but, on the whole, it was an "off the shelf" movie. I don't mind that I saw it but I'll probably never think, "I want to watch that Mario movie again.."...

Mickey vs Mario as pop culture icons?

Coke is not as popular as it once was. I believe their main drink now is: water. People have steered away from the colas because of the health aspects of it and people becoming fat. I think a lot of this has more to do with the sedentary lifestyle as kids used to drink Coke/Pepsi all the time...

Mickey vs Mario as pop culture icons?

I could bring up Betty Boop and I bet everyone reading this would know who she is (of course, there's always one... :) ). I don't think you'd get any argument that she's relevant today. You're right about all of the TV regulations and the idiot stuff we had during the late 1970s and 1980s where...

Mickey vs Mario as pop culture icons?

I think it's arguable now that Mario is more relevant than Mickey or Bugs Bunny. Essentially, Disney and Warner Bros, stopped investing in their character line and now it's largely a lot of "has been" stuff. Yes, you being Disney fans may love good ole' Mickey Mouse. Others may recognize him...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

There's also "I can do anything without any training at all because I'm a woman"-Rey. In the last movie I watched (VIII) the Admiral (I don't remember her title) was quite belligerent and treated Finn and the other guy like dogs because they were men. It's the whole "The Force is Female" bit...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

I think one of the problems may have been that it was simply not viable. There's a point to where making it actually work, and work well, would take more than they could possibly charge for people staying and that's where it falls apart.

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

First, you have to give Disney some credit for trying something outside the box. ... The vin-diagram (above) is the problem. I also think "employing people to play parts" is a problem for Disney (now). They simply don't want to pay for people to roam the streets and entertain the guests...

    Please fix the monorail!

I'd argue that the 100 year old locomotives are better maintained than the Monorail trains. Kind of like how I could probably find a guy with a Model T that is well maintained and find someone with a 2021 Toyota Camry which hasn't had an oil change because "it still runs.."

    Please fix the monorail!

The door flying open was one of many incidents. Parts coming off was another. The Monorail being unreliable to the point where people stopped using it for things like dining reservations 5-10 years back is another. They used to proudly state their 99.9% uptime. They haven't stated that in...

    Please fix the monorail!

Just to clarify: I don't want them to get rid of the Monorail. I want them to make it how it once was (99.9% uptime). That being said: What do you think happens now when the Monorail goes down? They run more ferries and bus people up. They can absolutely get rid of it. If they were completely...

    Please fix the monorail!

You can't see that on a spreadsheet. What they see is: - Monorail costs money What they don't see is: - Monorail making money (directly - through sales of tickets for the monorail) I think that they will do the minimum, for now, to keep the monorails running to keep Disney fans (folks here)...

News Mickey’s Copyright Adventure: Early Disney Creation Will Soon Be Public Property

Yes, you do - just to set things back to normal. People can make a Winnie the Pooh horror story - so what? Who's REALLY interested in this (I didn't hear that it was a huge block buster). At best it becomes a campy B-movie people watch and make fun of. The same thing happened with the Muppets...

News Mickey’s Copyright Adventure: Early Disney Creation Will Soon Be Public Property

I hadn't realized that Goofy was in the Simpsons but here it is: It's an excellent example. Imagine the Simpsons not being owned by Disney. Why shouldn't there be a bit where Homer is having a conversation with Goofy in a bar (or Peter from Family Guy).. These are the types of things that the...

News Mickey’s Copyright Adventure: Early Disney Creation Will Soon Be Public Property

I used to think this way - say 20 years back when this same topic came up and they re-upped the copyright specifically for Disney. I no longer agree with it, however. The copyright gives the original artist the ability to profit from their works for a long period of time (I'd have to review...

For Reference: Space for a 5th Park at Walt Disney World

It's interesting that on the WDW side we think, "Oh.. just add a park." On the DLR side they already have more attractions across their two parks than all of the attractions from all of the parks in WDW put together.

    Tiered Parking

Disney has a tiered system for tickets. Days that are thought to have higher attendance cost more like Christmas, Spring Break, etc. Why hasn't Disney introduced this for parking? For example, a normal day should be $25 (I think that's what it is now). Higher attendance days, using their own...

Hey Ap'ers, how does it feel to know you are a contingency plan?

While this is true, I think the nuances between Disney and other are different. If you own a restaurant and Bob and Jane come in, you appreciate their business. You welcome them. You make them feel welcomed. You don't tell Bob & Jane, "I don't really care if you're here or not because there's...
