    Hotel Help!

French Quarter is definitely better for kids than Riverside out of the two Port Orleans resorts due to it's pool theme. Unless you're staying in a Royal Room at Riverside. Staying at either gets you within fairly easy access of the other resorts amenities though so that's nice. The main issue...

    Port Orleans - Your Thoughts

I enjoyed Riverside with my girlfriend because there were very few kids. I'd request one of the closer rooms though cause it can be a bit spread out (we stayed in the Bayou right next to the restaurant and that was nice). I liked staying in the Bayou because we were last on the bus route which...

WDW has lost much of its magic.

Oh yeah definitely, I think Cedar Fair is doing a MUCH better job but they still have to care about that bottom dollar and a shiny new entrance right next to Fury made more sense than keeping the old one unfortunately. :( Paramount nearly drove the park into the ground. What was it they...

Things I'll Never Do At Disney Again............

Oh honey... bless your heart :(

WDW has lost much of its magic.

I'll add my 2 cents as someone who never got to go until she was 30 (I'm 32 now): I think it's still magical. I think for people who go more often or get that 'back in my day' syndrome anything loses it's magic. We have an amusement park where I'm from called Carowinds and let me tell you...

    Princess costumes

Hoops can definitely collapse like that. Each hoop is fairly stiff on it's own but it's usually suspended by fabric or strips of ribbon that have no issue collapsing like one of those collapsible camping cups.

    Not much of a planner

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet (if it hasn't then let me second it) but Disney Tourist Blog is your friend.

First time trip planner - ever.

I'm also going to answer question by question: 1. Is 5 days enough or should we go for 7? The ticket price difference is $30, i'm leaning towards 7 but she's leaning towards 5. 7, definitely, you'll kick yourself otherwise. 2. What is a good hotel for these purposes: -It's just the two...

First time trip planner - ever.

I'm not sure if you've found them yet or not but seriously check out the Disney Tourist Blog. If you're worried about it they've definitely covered it. It's a great resource because it helps the type A planner (like me) who tends to drive themselves crazy planning, while reminding them to...

Very Merry Christmas Tickets as part of a full week's stay.

I've only every been to WDW during the Not so Scary Halloween Party (HIGHLY recommend BTW, best parade ever) but we're going this year during the same week as you actually. I could definitely see not getting a park hopper one day and instead going for a single park pass that day and then the...

    Struggling to decide on ECV

Good to know on both counts. <3

    Struggling to decide on ECV

Yeah I was looking at the scooters that Buena Vista has and I'd really rather go with the smaller one, because it looks more maneuverable with the single wheel in the front but it only lasts 10 miles. If people are already saying to plug in any scooter and the other ones last 15 miles I'm...

    Struggling to decide on ECV

You're fine, I already knew the CBR didn't have elevators (though it's up in the air if they have hidden ones for housekeeping carts and such) and the rest of the advice you gave was excellent <3 But yeah, there are people who've stayed there who SWEAR there are elevators and that they've used...

    Struggling to decide on ECV

Actually I can't stay there. The military screwed me on disability (something I'm finally brave enough to challenge only now) and until I get that sorted I'm ineligible because I'm only at 60% service connected disability. Technically PTSD automatically warrants 100% but they've basically been...

    Struggling to decide on ECV

So I actually have been using everyone here's points to discuss this with my girlfriend. This is basically what we've decided: We're going to go on ahead and book an ECV, I'm still a bit worried about using it in the Magic Kingdom due to that being the more crowded of the parks (so any tips on...

Ridiculous or just plain weird in-queue stories, I wanna hear 'em.

God do I know the feeling as the girlfriend of a transgender woman. Her legs are amazing and go on for DAYS and she's all "ugh I hate my legs they're so huge." No sweetie they're long and amazing and look way better in heels than mine every have.

    Struggling to decide on ECV

Trust me, if we hadn't had the one chick last time actively interrupt Country Bears to loudly call my girlfriend "SIR" repeatedly and ask what her 'real' name was (her birth name is actually already very feminine sounding so I guess she thought we were lying to her) before trying to say that...

    Struggling to decide on ECV

Yeah my mention of feeling trapped in a line is more to do with the fact that I've been in enough of them to know that if I take an ECV in there won't be enough room to leave the line if there's anyone behind me. But yeah, I have things that work for my anxiety. There's this app I use with...

    Struggling to decide on ECV

Yeah I really don't want to go that route and from what I've read I'm really not supposed to for my mobility issues. Disney's policy seems to be 'if you can be in in a wheelchair that should mean you don't need the special pass' and for my mobility issues I agree, if I'm in a ECV or chair then...

    Struggling to decide on ECV

It's for the theme mainly. She'll enjoy the theme of Caribbean more than French Quarter (Her grandmother actually lives in New Orleans so it's nothing new or special to her) and with us going in early December I figure the pools will be warmer to enjoy than the splash area at the French...
