News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Your inaccurate categorizations speak volumes. Fake outrage? Disney hasn't shown outrage. It's a calculated decision to change a ride with some uncomfortable and increasingly outdated associations and that's how it's been presented. Has it been in the works for years? Probably. Because it's got...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Let's be honest. No one ever said it was a "hate filled racist ride" and you're just bitter that Disney is doing what every other company is doing... ignoring you and your opinions. These are calculated decisions by executives and board members. The population, especially on the younger side of...

Masks and Social Distancing Go Away in WDW

Yes. In July 2021 at WDW right after the parks reopened. If we throw out the politics of it, I think it's really about a comfortable mask that fits you well. My favorite masks I can wear all day with minimal discomfort, and most of the time I don't even notice it's on. Not much different than...

Disney Forum Fans VS Generic Disney Fans

Didn't get to visit the parks as a kid and only started a few years ago as an adult, so never got to ride Maelstrom. I've seen ride-through videos and it looked meh, but I can understand the connection to it for long-time park fans. I do like the idea of rides more themed to the nation...

Disney Forum Fans VS Generic Disney Fans

Fair point. And conversely, I think being on the "extreme" the other way does not mean that we don't hold some things sacred. I'd say we almost all agree on some basic points: - against paying more, getting less - would rather see new rides built than reimagined rides - believe that the majority...

Disney Forum Fans VS Generic Disney Fans

I suppose I fall into the generic Disney fan group, but I think there's a gradient. There are things I feel are better left alone (Main Street Theater in Disneyland for example), but I also think the evolution is necessary. I'm also a Star Wars fan and I see the strong parallels to this divide...

A lower attendance future for WDW?

I assumed they meant standing in the physical queues, not actual wait times. Full MaxPass style with every ride as a virtual queue. Check in on the app, wander around and eat, shop, go to shows, until your ride time window. I could see something like that.

A lower attendance future for WDW?

All of these rental car companies sold off their fleets and they can't replenish because of the lag in manufacturing. It's going to be this way for awhile. I have a car reserved with Enterprise in Hawaii in early July at about $350 after taxes for the week. I am a little concerned they'll find a...

A lower attendance future for WDW?

I agree. I think the shift to higher spenders and smaller crowds is something that would be easily viewable on a line graph and in data reports, but not something you'd necessarily notice in the parks unless you were really paying attention. I do wonder if the year-round fandom of some middle...

    Annual Pass Discounts

This is all very helpful. The feedback and info is appreciated.

    Annual Pass Discounts

I agree that historical trends are out the window. Thanks for the insight on the room discounts. As I was reading up on the benefits I saw that AP does not appear to get discounts on park tickets for others. Is that accurate?

star wars launch bay morse code

My job thanks you for the hour I just spent at work trying to decode what might just be gibberish. Hoping an answer is found.

    Annual Pass Discounts

Planning a trip for late January, early February of 2022 with family. I've never been an AP holder, but assuming that they are available to purchase by then, I'm considering getting one for a year and making several shorter trips in addition to the family trip. Are AP discounts for rooms...

    I'm fascinated by this. Following!

    One Year Prediction

I'm with you. You can't really defend the "value" of any luxury purchase, including Disney trips in general. That's what makes them luxury. As Disney has removed some tangible benefits (EMH, Magical Express, FP+), the parts that are more subjective are now a bit more exposed. Being in the...

    One Year Prediction

More packed than January/February has been in recent pre-COVID years? I've only been to WDW in the summer, but I'm over the heat and humidity. The weather makes Disneyland so much more of an enjoyable location to visit in summer. We decided to plan this trip during the end of the winter months...

What is the funniest WDW attraction?

I'm in the minority in that I also really enjoy the laugh floor. The whole concept is a brilliant use of IP, utilizing the original story without just retelling it, and creating a legitimately unique attraction. I still think Muppets 3-D is funnier, but Laugh Floor is my close 2nd.

Underappreciated Rides - What’s Your Favorite?

I love this in concept, but the 3D is so bad I have trouble enjoying it. I love the music, the story, the AC, all of it. Just very hard to physically watch.

    One Year Prediction

I wear only the Disney XL ones now, as they are the most comfortable I've found. I wear them all day at work without any issue. If it were as uncomfortable as most of the other masks I've tried, I would be right there with you.

    One Year Prediction

I believe there is a limited time frame that this will be effective. I had a July 2020 trip and, by absolute luck/chance of my dates, was in the parks the second day they reopened. Mixed emotions. It was cool to ride everything without lines and without heavy crowds, but it did not feel the...
