Disney is not just for kids!!!

I read through this earlier and thought about it for a bit. I'm a single guy, say 30-ish. Last October was the first time I went back since the mid 90's (my mid-teens). Since then I've traveled to Mexico (real Mexico), some of the Caribbean (real Caribbean), west, east, south, you get the...

    Who's voice made the character?

The only unassailable choice here is Robin Williams as The Genie. Not only did he do the Genie's voice, but he did the voice's of the characters the Genie transformed into. Great performance! I like the William F. Buckley Genie character, "Ah, almost. There are a few provisos, a...

Mandy Moore Visits the Magic Kingdom

I was unable to ignore this thread. It opened automatically in my browser. Must be some kind of computer programming the site uses to draw attention to certain threads . . . . or one of those pesky hitch-hiking ghosts did it.

    Favorite Classic Attraction Song?

Great subject! I think my favorites are: 1. All of the American Adventure ones are tied for first. 2. Grim Grinning Ghosts 3. Yo-ho, Yo-ho a Pirates life for me... It seems I always hear so much music at the parks I never remember any one specifically. All are very good and contribute to the...

Only a year and a half away from Harry Potter Land and still nothing from Disney!

Exactly. Or better, someplace State side that looks like the landscape of the U.K. Perhaps someplace with an ailing economy . . . oh I don't know . . . around the Great Lakes region. Bring some jobs back to my State. We can make it look like England. ;) Where's the vision?

Only a year and a half away from Harry Potter Land and still nothing from Disney!

Reading everyone's thoughts and flames between WDW and US/IoA got me thinking: who out there has a vision to even pull off something remotely close to Walt Disney World? I'm astounded by Walt's vision. The fact it still is pulled off after all these years amazes. Especially when you consider...

Only a year and a half away from Harry Potter Land and still nothing from Disney!

Isn't that the MK experience now? Or EPCOT? Or DHS? The other close, "richly themed" experience I can think of is going to Capitol Hill. A bunch of criminals, just like prison. :lookaroun

Only a year and a half away from Harry Potter Land and still nothing from Disney!

I'm a casual Harry Potter fan (read books 1-3, watched all of the movies) and will visit WWoHP. I'm also a casual Disney fan at this point but will continue to stay at Disney property. What is so great about Disney is the day-to-day exceptional treatment of guests by CM's. I haven't been to...

I completely forgot about the Potato Pierogies at Poland. Mmmm ... good.

My Favorite Food at Disney is...

Hello everyone I think my favorite is the Clam Chowder at Columbia Harbour House, MK. Delicious. Also, at the Food and Wine Festival '07 the American Pavilion had a food stand with Maine Lobster rolls. Small and a bit pricey @ $7 but absolutely worth it. Tuna Melt at Earl of Sandwich is...

    Nice Disney Smells

Don't know if I just enjoy the Norway Pavillion and Maelstrom but that pastry shop smells great; so any pastry shop at home reminds me of it. Maelstrom always seems fresh, no particular smell only the air seems very hydrated. I'm not sure what 'very hydrated' actually means but I know it's not...

    First Time to WDW

First, you're going to love it. Second, I recommend Columbia Harbour House near the Haunted Mansion. Afternoon snack or lunch as well as air conditioning. At least duck in there for some A/C. Have fun!

Disney doesn't allow guns at work!

O.K., no one is going to change another's mind on this subject. Disney's policy is Disney's policy, right/wrong/indifferent, unless the board/management/shareholders force a change. In closing: "Have fun stormin' da castle!"

Disney doesn't allow guns at work!

I know this might be a sensitive subjective for some but I think a post earlier referenced VA Tech. I'll be delicate. One kid with a gun, legally I think, walks around a campus shooting up the place. Most, if not all the students, faculty, SECURITY were unarmed. It seems to me that the...

Disney doesn't allow guns at work!

I thought there was already one at WDW in a silo someplace . . . or so I've read.

Disney doesn't allow guns at work!

What do WD Inc. shareholders think about this firearm policy? After all, this 'private property' is owned by the shareholders. Perhaps they have the power, and responsibility, to clarify the position with respect to the FL law. Disney-fied politics. This site keeps getting better since I...

    Greetings WDWMagic!

Thanks for the greetings! I've learned some stuff here for my next trip in October with my dear parents. They go every year, usually twice. Last year was my first time back since the mid-90's. Had a great time last October. I think I'm more impressed with the fact that the CM's can still...
