I would classify the walk from IG to BW as negligible in the grand scheme of walking distances at WDW. It’s like walking from the IG to Morocco. You wouldn’t forego eating at Spice Road Table because it’s too far from the back entrance of the park. I doubt you’d reconsider going to the BW...

They couldn’t get the Epcot and DHS guests to go to the boardwalk because they didn’t provide transportation back to their hotels. The gondola opens this up to 4 resorts. They would be stupid not to at least lightly promote the boardwalk as a potential nightlife venue accessible via the gondola. The facilities there are probably only used to about 25% of their total annual capacity.

I suspect they give some info on SSE. If it’s going down around the end of the year for a multi-year refurb I would expect them to give some kind of explanation.

Staying at BWV you’ll have no obligation to use the gondolas. They aren’t being constructed with the intention of serving your resort. You may continue to walk or boat to either of the parks serviced by the gondolas. EDIT: Also....no stairs....and no elevator

I’m not seriously challenging you but more just playing devils advocate....wouldn’t the sliding friction in a system like this be relatively minimal? The cable interfaces with all of its touch points in a rolling manner so I would think that the sliding speed from your equation would approach 0...

I listen to their podcast quite frequently and I’m always struck by how little they seem to know about the current rumor mill. Listening to them speculate about the gondola was pretty entertaining a couple months ago.
