Will Disneyland USA suffer? ALL Of Disney's Theme Parks Now Closed - Reopening Dates Unknown

There is no grey zone out there. It is either “We are going to die!” or “You are being hysterical!”. Welcome to 2020!

DHS Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

I am visiting WDW soon and may go to DHS. But I am concerned about FastPass+ selections; how fast are they gone come the 60 day window?

DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I am only going to WDW for a short time. And it would be quite disheartening to use my FastPass+ selections at DHS, be locked in, and not get to ride ROTR. That is what concerns me. Planning WDW is far more complicated than DL.

DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I continue to be uncertain about this: if you request a boarding group at park opening, are you definitely going to be able to ride? o_O

DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

So how early do you need to line up at the gates to be able to enter in time?

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I would assume that is already simulated with a quick lurch forward. Did you notice traveling down the river looks 3D? Likely by using similar techniques as the Pinocchio movie.

DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

So do we know roughly the minutes you have to almost certainly get to ride (i.e. get a boarding pass within and your set)?

DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Thank you for the reply! Do you know how many boarding groups and backups they release and the conservative average called each day?

DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I may decide to visit DHS while there. But I don’t follow WDW discussions. Do the boarding groups continue to be a sort of lottery and gone within a couple minutes on most days? And just how many backups are usually called?

Disneyland Resort's Last Day Of Operation Wait Times - Friday, March 13th.

I don’t believe this has anything to do with the coronavirus hysteria, as the last few days were forecast to be some of the least busy days of the year. But I wouldn’t be surprised to be proven wrong... this go around! ;)

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I feel this is an evolution of Fantasyland style dark rides. It is the 2D and 3D elements of Toad and Pinocchio combined into 2.5D with animated projections thrown in there. Pretty cool. Does it need this large scale and be trackless? Absolutely not.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

To emphasize my critique; one train car gets absolutely shafted during the transformation climax as they are unable to even really see it. Sorry, but you can’t possibly argue this is not bad design.

Will Disneyland USA suffer? ALL Of Disney's Theme Parks Now Closed - Reopening Dates Unknown

I do hope Disney becomes educated of this and does not close any more parks.

JD2000 entered the discussion... NOT! ;)

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

It is weird. There are even animations you miss by sitting in the front two cars.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Yes, but each train car has at least one view or timing that is atrocious. And you could argue this repeatably is bad for those who don't go frequently due to the inconsistent experience. I don't think four autonomous vehicles work here very well.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

So each train car has quite substantially different views and timing of animations. It is both a positive and big negative at times. Weird.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

YouTube is definitely not the way to experience this ride; scene depth is very hard to see on video apparently.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I love the art style. Does it occasionally go too far? Yes. But otherwise it is a good call back to the original art style with sticker book mixed in there. I think. :)
