    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

Last time I was on a Disney Cruise (2013) my favorite martini (Bombay Sapphire) cost in the neighborhood of $9-$10. Since I pay $8 for that at chain restaurants here in West Podunk, Missouri I thought that price was pretty reasonable.

    Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters

Nothing but a guess, but I'm inclined to think that the actual land will look better than the concept art. Whoever did the art for both Star Wars and Toy Story land seemed to be obsessed with dark, angry looking skies. Hard to make anything look good against that backdrop. The themeing of the...

What Things Today Would Walt Disney Have Never Done or Be Out RAGED ABOUT.

I actually think they have been. Disney believed in experimenting and trying new things. Some worked out, some were massive failures. If not for the success of Snow White, Disney would have been bankrupt, Disney Parks would never exist, and he would be little more than a footnote of history...

Trip Planning: How long is to long?

For me 4-days, 5-nights seems about perfect. I don't get there very often because of the distance and expense involved... WDW is much closer to where I live. If I am going to go there, I want to have plenty of time. I always need an extra night for the day that I arrive... by the time my flight...

Where does Tomorrowland go from here?

I agree. Now that DL will have Star Wars Land to occupy people, bulldoze TL except for Space mountain and start over. Go back to the original concept and develop it according to the original theme. People claim it can't be done, that the future changes too quickly. That is taking the easy way...

    Hi!

Great to see you dshyates. Since starting here I have been posting primarily on the WDW topics since I visit there far more often and am much more familiar with it. But I will be sure to check the DL section frequently just to see what my LP friends are up to!

    Help a Rookie out Please?!

Wow... you really are going all out. First time on-site at WDW and you are staying at the Poly! I have 25+ visits staying on-site, and although I would love to stay there, have never been able to justify the expense... either in dollars or DVC points. I finally made it to the Contemporary last...

    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

As for paying for watered-down drinks, that may be true of the daily drink specials on the pool deck, but I've never found it to be the case in the ship's clubs. My primary drinks are wine and martini's and there is virtually no way to water those down. But I also enjoy the Captain's Mai Tai's...

    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

My goodness people. You're on a cruise... stop being so cheap and have a little fun. I've never carried alcohol onto the ship and don't know why anyone would want to. I would far rather have wine at dinner and a few drinks afterwards in one of the ship's great lounges than sit in my stateroom...

Would/Have you moved to FL (in part) for WDW?

Other than the winters, Minnesota is a wonderful place to live. That said, as soon as I was able to take early retirement I headed for a warmer climate. Florida heat and humidity during the summer was too much for me so I ended up in SW Missouri. A much more moderate climate than Minnesota but...

    Embarking in Miami- Seeking Advice

We will be taking a Disney Cruise out of Miami this fall. We will be driving to Florida, spending two nights at Disney's Vero Beach Resort and then driving to Miami the day the cruise departs. Will we be able to park right at the terminal DCL uses? Will we need parking reservations in advance...

Would/Have you moved to FL (in part) for WDW?

My brother and his family moved to Orlando to be close to WDW and it didn't work out well for them. They got tired of the parks. I'm sure part of that was because my SIL worked for Disney Reservations and they were able to go so often at no cost. I used to want to meet him and his family at a...

    BLT Studio Cramped??

For the BLT size it certainly makes more sense. 300 sq ft is even smaller than the WDW moderates. Now I am less concerned that DonnG and his family will be impossibly crowded!

    BLT Studio Cramped??

Everyone must measure differently. The source I had showed BLT at only 300 square feet. :jawdrop:

    BLT Studio Cramped??

I wouldn't worry about the ECV... I think that will be the least of your problems. The sleeping situation is more difficult. An air mattress would work, but everyone would end up stepping over everyone, it would not be convenient at all. I'm not sure what Disney would think about bringing one...

Problems booking at 7 month window

I prefer traveling at non-peak times. I hate both hot weather and large crowds so I usually visit at non-peak times. I have never had a problem booking at the 7-month window, although I've heard that the Grand Californian can be troublesome. Fortunately my very favorite DVC Resort is the...

    BLT Studio Cramped??

The Studios at BLT are the smallest of any DVC Resort... about the same size as a standard room at a WDW moderate. It will be tight, but if you are not spending much time in the room you should be OK. It is certainly worth staying there once... the location is fantastic. The largest Studios are...

    Top of the world lounge

We watched the special fireworks for Mickey's Halloween Party at Top of the World and the view was fantastic... they always play the music. You didn't ask about food, but my wife and I both thought the appetizers were very good. We shared several of them and made a meal out of it. :)

Question about getting to Trails End

I really enjoy the buffet at Trail's End... both breakfast and dinner. Trail''s End and Tusker House at the AK are the only WDW buffets that I think are worth the money.
