Fortune Magazine: Disney's tech innovation is my nightmare

I kind of agree that the Omnimovers rarely need fastpass. But with Frozenmania in full force the meet & greets have some of the longest waits in the park. How could FP be making that situation worse?

Fortune Magazine: Disney's tech innovation is my nightmare

I really like FP+ and the Magic Band system. It is especially nice when using the resort pools to not have to carry around a room card etc. with you, but just wear a waterproof band. No need to be a slave to it... in most parks you really don't need more than one or two of the FP selections...

    Marvel Land in DCA?

Marvel almost has too many characters and films. How do you decided which one(s) to base an attraction or two on? Guess I've just never been a huge Marvel fan. The only Marvel film that really excited me was Guardians of the Galaxy, and I almost decided not to see it thinking it would be "just...

    Paradise Pier to Entrance

Cutting through the lobby of the GCH is the shortest route as Jenn mentioned. I feel the distance is no further than from the most distant DLH towers, but still is not a short walk.

    Biscuits and gravy

I understand. I totally do not understand British breakfast items either. Tomatoes? Baked Beans? Black Pudding (I know what it is and it scares me!)? Bubble and Squeak (whatever THAT is)? Guess I'll stick with biscuits and sausage gravy. The stuff at WDW is generally OK; at Trail's End it is...

    What do you think now?

Didn't hate the hat, but hated the way it blocked the view of the Chinese Theater and totally did not fit the image of Hollywood Boulevard. The only good thing about it is that the Earful Tower is the lamest icon any park ever had. The location is so out of the way it is hard to see from...

Disneyland vs. Magic Kingdom poll(only those who have been to both)

Disneyland is a far better park. WDW is a far better destination resort. Overall, I choose Walt Disney World over Disneyland Resort.

Anyone else think TDO has lost its way with excessively long build times

The situation at Disney Springs is a good example of why that kind of schedule is not possible for the parks. They had to close half of Downtown Disney and then totally destroyed the parking situation, creating huge traffic jams prior to completing the new parking structure. There is no way they...

    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

Probably, but then that is nothing new for Disney. The theme parks are even worse! :D :p :D

Thanks for the information. I was unaware of that.

    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

Sorry. I was just generically addressing some of the arguments presented in this thread. I understand your point of view, but at the same time have a hard time getting too outraged when DCL policy just falls in line with the others. I figure not having a casino on the ship probably saves me...

    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

So you are not looking for the freedom to drink in your stateroom... just the ability to do it cheaply. That's cool... just don't hide it as only wanting to have the option of sitting on your veranda with a glass of wine. :)

    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

As I remember the ships have a store on board that sells wines and liquor by the bottle. Wouldn't you be allowed to drink that in your stateroom? I don't believe the prices were outrageous because there was no U.S. tax to pay. Maybe not as cheap as you could buy it at home, but far cheaper than...

What Things Today Would Walt Disney Have Never Done or Be Out RAGED ABOUT.

Walt didn't have to satisfy a Board of Directors or stockholders. He owned the whole thing lock, stock and barrel. He could do whatever he wanted and no one could question him. Thankfully Roy occasionally did, which probably kept him out of bankruptcy long enough to make him successful. Sure...

Would you like to see a new fireworks show at MK?

I would like to see a new fireworks show, but I would REALLY LOVE to see a new nighttime parade.

What Things Today Would Walt Disney Have Never Done or Be Out RAGED ABOUT.

Thanks for the kind words. I've just kind of learned over the years that it doesn't really pay to get too upset or too excited over anything. Whatever happens, happens; and for the most part it usually ends up being OK.. And even when it doesn't, there is probably little you could do about it...

    Charging for coffee??

It's been that way for as long as I can remember, and I've been in DVC since 2000. You get a small initial supply and then nothing more until "trash and towel" day. Our first night we always head to the grocery section of the gift shop and buy the additional supplies we know we will need. Look...

    DCL Revises Alcohol Policy

I guess my point of reference is the price of alcohol at WDW and DL. Drinks on the ship are a couple of dollars cheaper across the board. I just accept that I am going to spend more drinking on vacation than I spend at home.
