    Personalized Name Badges

Seeing as how it's an item they once sold, I'm not surprised that no CM has ever suggested it was "not appropriate" for you to wear it. However, I do believe that the reason they stopped selling them is most likely because they learned it created problems. To the average guest seeing someone...

If you could be a CM, would you?

There has been some discussion over what constitutes a "personal attack". This is a good example of one. It is not in any way related to the topic we're discussing, nor is it simply an example of disagreeing with my point on something.

If you could be a CM, would you?

That was a good part too. In the book, he talks about how he had to convince his wife how important it was to him to do the lecture for that reason. But preparing for it was consuming all his time and eating into time that she and the kids could spend with him.

If you could be a CM, would you?

Me too. It's my favorite quote from the Last Lecture.

If you could be a CM, would you?

That's not true at all. The simple state of not having something does not make it scarce. It simply means that you do not currently have that thing. It says nothing about how difficult it is to attain. Now if something is difficult for you to attain, then that too does not make it scarce if...

If you could be a CM, would you?

:sohappy: Exactly! Car payments, etc are "brick walls". I love what Randy Pausch said about brick walls... "They are there to give us the opportunity to prove how badly we want something. They are meant to separate us from the people who don't want it badly enough."

If you could be a CM, would you?

Not difficult to shave a beard off though. It comes down to a matter of choice.

If you could be a CM, would you?

Actually it does. Scarcity and difficulty make things special. Neither of those situations exist in this scenario. And there's no need to be "desperate" for something that is easy to get.

If you could be a CM, would you?

That's my point. There was a time when Disney was very particular about whom they hired and only a select few could get in. Not so anymore. Working for Disney is no longer something that a person "dreams" about, but it doesn't happen. It's easy to get a job there. Now if you're talking...

If you could be a CM, would you?

Not that difficult to get hired There was a time when Disney was extremely selective in whom they hired to represent them to the public. Not the case any longer. This is evidenced by the multitude of negative threads and posts on here, by current and former Disney CMs, about their jobs and...

SCAD project about club at DTD.....

When pressed, the OP admitted his friend might have been lying. I'd say that's likely the case. Case closed.

    Rant: Universal Customer Service

Are you of the belief that Disney would have allowed you to switch the tickets no problem?? Also, if your "I'm sick, so can I skip the line?" approach works at Disney, let me know. I would love to never have to stand in line again simply by telling a CM that I'm sick. :hammer:

No. I think either your friend is pulling your leg or you made this all up.

Performing experiments on the Tower of Terror

The problem with this as an example is I'm not aware of anyone having done that, are you? In contrast, the coin "experiment" IS something that people tend to do a lot (as stated multiple times in this very thread). I'm curious why you think that would be "common sense". I disagree...

Performing experiments on the Tower of Terror

What exactly would be the recourse? Considering the fact that there are no signs (that I've ever noticed anyway) clearly telling people this sort of activity is prohibited, it seems hard to imagine Disney punishing people for doing it.

    a salute to stupid guests

What are you applauding? The fact that the poster (plaz10) revived a 5-month old thread? :hammer:

    Weird picture..

I'm sure it's not intentional. This is an example of something called "pareidolia", which is the tendency to see faces in objects (such as the famous "face on Mars"). We are actually programmed by evolution to see faces, which is why people tend to see them in rock formations, clouds, etc...
