Well, Universal may think WDW announcements are pending...

It closed in '93 I believe, so you'd have been, what, 7? Certainly possible you remember it. I definitely remember Mission to Mars and seem to have a vague recollection of Flight to the Moon, but that's probably just from hearing my father tell me about it since I would have been 3 years old...

Murphy the Dragon with fire - footage from two cameras edited together

Opinions and everything, but, yeah, not even close. The DL Fantasmic! with all the upgrades they've done makes the WDW version look horrible. Saw the WDW version in January and the DL one last month, and even without the dragon it smokes WDW's version. Can't wait to see Murphy live in about...

Pick your poison! Haunted Mansion poll!

I'll be different and vote for the Disneyland version. True, the effects are better in the WDW version, but the exterior themeing, stretch rooms that actually go down and higher quality loading area push the DL version just ahead of the WDW version for me. But not by much. Unlike Pirates, they...

Star Tours 2: Official confirmation - kinda

You're hilarious. You don't get to post replies to people's messages and then pick and choose who is allowed to post replies to your replies. It doesn't even matter if jt offended you and now you have some kind of vendetta against him. Heck, I can't even stand most of the guy's posts but he has...

    Disney discontinuing resort specific merchandise.

That's disappointing if they are really getting rid of resort specific merchandise. Although my last visit at the Contemporary in January (my fav resort) there was precious little Contemporary specific stuff, and what there was wasn't very good. I love collecting pins, but typically only...

Star Tours 2: Official confirmation - kinda

Don't butt in? To posts on a publicly viewable forum? That's a new one. If you find him annoying, add him to your ignore list. If you like being annoyed and don't want anyone to "butt in" then use a private message. Sheesh. Talk about annoying.

    Unmagical TOT CMs

Apparently we aren't reading the same quote. The OP said: That reads to me like during most of his trips through the ToT, the CMs were doing what he/she expected, e.g. being creepy and paying lots of attention to the guests. However, during one visit towards the end of the night they were...

    Unmagical TOT CMs

Funny, I don't remember on my itemized list of charges on my trip in January that I paid for CMs to never break character. Darnit, I should have been paying more attention! Stupid lazy young people! :) I honestly don't see any difference in the way the CMs act now than they did since I've been...

Driving from Maine to Disney! Yay!

Pfftt! Amateurs! (Not really! :)) When I was living in South Dakota in 1999 I drove down to Orlando to go to Disney World and then also swung by Charleston, South Carolina to visit my Grandmother. Gas was only about $1.50 back then I think, but the airfare to fly from South Dakota is really...

    Unmagical TOT CMs

Did they get everybody on the ride in an orderly fashion? Were you or anyone else forced to sit there and wait while an empty elevator was sitting waiting to be boarded? Did they insure that everyone was properly restrained inside the elevator? If they did all those things then they did their...

BLT not open to the public?

I got it too! Bill: You hocked a Hattori Hanzo Sword? Budd: Yep. Bill: It was priceless. Budd: Well, not in El Paso, it ain't. In El Paso I got me $250 for it. :)

Best Attraction in the World: Future World West

I'll take Living with the Land over Soarin', at least at Epcot. It fits much better at DCA. Put a new film in Soarin' that isn't specific to California and doesn't finish up in Disneyland and I'd rate it higher!

Tomorrowland Transit Authority reopening date pushed back a week to Sep 1

That's strange...mine had an omnimover, until they closed it down for a Meet & Greet with Chuck and...whoever the heck else they have at a Chuck E. Cheese. :lookaroun

If there were dream suite's in the other three parks were would you like them to be?

Nah, the air conditioning or the water probably wouldn't work all the time. :) Seriously, though, definitely Tower of Terror at DHS. Wasn't there talk of actually building a resort themed to the Tower of Terror at one time? Probably something in the Living Seas at Epcot and something near the...

Best Attraction in the World: Future World

Also had to go with Spaceship Earth, as its the only EPCOT Center-ish attraction left. Test Track is so-so, Mission: Space is fine, but nothing special.

Best Attraction in the World: Tomorrowland

Definitely Carousel of Progress for me. Saw it in Jan. and enjoyed it immensely. Hadn't seen it since 1999 or so. If you had asked me in 1999, I would have said Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress and then Tommorowland Transit Authority, in that order. But after my trip in January Space...

Harry Potter is arriving sooner than expected. What does this mean for WDW?

I LOVE Heart of Darkness...great book and the inspiration for a great movie in Apocalypse Now. You want hard to get through, try James Joyce (Ulysses, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man) or William Faulkner (Sound and the Fury, Absalom, etc.). I kinda like them, but they are really hard for...

Food and Wine Nickel and Diming

They should just charge $500 to get into the parks for a day. That would lessen wait times for wine tastings AND rides/shows/attractions/interactive experiences! Yes, I'm being facetious. A little. Maybe. :)
