    Space Mountain Refurbishment Info

It looks like a giant pewter model that's been sitting in the sun too long.

The gold isn't so bad, isn't the mottled olive color inbetween that gets me.

    Space Mountain Refurbishment Info

Ah, yes. The towering off-white spires of majestic Space Mountain. Hey, at least they never painted the WDW one like this: "Mom, somebody threw up on Space Mountain." :hurl:

DCA's new Games of the Boardwalk now open

Nice shots. This kind of stuff really has me excited for when the whole park is done. If this level of care and detail goes into the whole park it will be a much more impressive place.

Construction bids going out for TLM attraction?

Thank you. I was going to respond to his response to my post, but I couldn't find a way to phrase it that wasn't completely insulting without trying to be. How does someone know what Steamboat Willy is but not realize that Peter Pan's Flight is based on the 1953 animated Disney film rather than...

Construction bids going out for TLM attraction?

That's not really a very logical basis, though, is it? I mean by your rationale shouldn't Peter Pan's Flight be incredibly unpopular because the movie is 56 years old? And I love Wall-E, its probably my favorite animated movie ever, but there is just no way in hell that Wall-E would pull in...

Construction bids going out for TLM attraction?

The sub ride is much better in my opinion. There's a couple of added scenes and a couple of funny jokes that aren't in the seacab version. The seagulls in the lagoon are cute. Unfortunately the incredibly slow loading time doesn't make up for it.

Construction bids going out for TLM attraction?

TLS = The Living Seas, and its pretty much the same thing as the Sub ride at DL. You do realize that TLM has sold north of 30 million copies on various video incarnations, right? And made over $200 million in its original run (which is pretty impressive considering it was the beginning of the...

    Space Mountain Refurbishment Info

Wow! I didn't know this! When did this book come out? I always liked Clancy's writing style but was never much for techno thrillers so I'd be interested in a book he wrote about theme parks!

    Space Mountain Refurbishment Info

I guess I'm just jaded or something, because I honestly thought AE was boring. Hey, look, its dark. Oh goody. Oh wow something tickled the back of my neck. Neat mist in my face. Hey was that a pretty cool looking alien AA I saw for about 2 seconds? Hard to tell its so dark in here. Its over. Oh...

What kind of WDW fan are you?

I was always a #1 until I got married and had kids. Now its a #2, though if I'm solo for any part of the day or the whole day I evolve (or devolve?) into a #1. Also, if its raining in Disneyland, I'm definitely a #1 type of person. Oh, and if we get within half a mile of Tower of Terror my whole...

    Haunted Mansion Expansion

And another in a long line of repeat arguments (sorry, discussions) where nobody changes anybody else's minds. :brick: Why is there no dead horse smiley? :) I'm frankly glad I live near Disneyland rather than Disney World. There are more seasonal things to check out and enjoy that it doesn't get...

Wed 8th April Magic Kingdom closure (Updated: phase 3 as of 12pm)

Heck, I was there Jan. 20-27 and on Jan. 24 (Saturday) the wait for Space was 60 minutes, Peter Pan was 45, Indy Speedway was 50, Buzz was 40, Mansion was 30 and Pooh was 50. Splash was only 15, but that's because it was like 55 degrees or something so only the crazy people were on it. The park...

Wed 8th April Magic Kingdom closure (Updated: phase 3 as of 12pm)

Thanks for fixing the links! I have to say that those wait times really don't seem that bad in comparison to how many people are in the parks. Its the same thing we noticed in January on a much larger scale. Wait times no longer than an hour (and only for Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain...

    Orlando Sentinel: Space Mountain

Eh, the DL one has the flash go off either as you are going into the re-entry tunnel or in the tunnel itself, I can never tell. It doesn't take me out of the ride or anything. I try not to read too much into posts on this forum because some of them can be kind of insulting so I just try to take...

Out of EVERYTHING in the disney world to come and go.....

Damn, I just don't know. There's so many things that are gone that I miss. The original Imagination pavillion. World of Motion. Horizons. The original Communicore. The Living Seas. The Original Spaceship Earth (I still like Walter Cronkite's version the best!). The Fiesta Fun Center at the...

    Intresting Universal Trip Report

I don't know about that. The physical ride itself (the drops and whatnot) are far FAR better on Dudley Do-Right, but the show scenes, themeing, music and story are far better on Splash, especially when everything is working. :lookaroun That's part of why I prefer the DL version of Splash over...
