Just to add a bit more information to this about the uk our slight increase in cases is down to specific areas of the population where vaccine hesitancy is at its highest in certain demographics which travelled back from India to the uk to avoid hotel quarantine...then travelling back into areas...

The view is that this type of thing has to be tested at some point and agree about the status however if any cases or outbreaks arise this gives the perfect ammunition for the government to introduce vaccine passports for these types of venues

It’s great data and news from them these results are from just over 50 percent of the whole population fully vaccinated it hints that the herd immunity threshold is between 50 and 60 percent which should be totally achievable

Life pretty much back to normal in Israel and the R number is still falling! Now at 0.55! Vaccines work! The quicker everyone is vaccinated the quicker we get back to normal that is what true herd immunity looks like

Thanks that’s interesting as that hasn’t widely been reported here our ministers and scientists say that AZ works against all known variants...I’m guessing they interpret that as it stops severe illness and death in all variants rather then efficacy
