    Toothsome opening

Full menu available at bar, which has open seating. There are also many more tables up there, seated by hostess, as well as a diorama (I guess that's the term?) of Penelope's office. It's hard to get across how much this place "out-Disney's" anything Disney has done recently, with the possible...

    Halloween Horror Nights 26

Not quite all ... American Horror Story mega house still coming

    What to eat, late arrival?

Sanford, not OIA. Nothing around there I recommend stopping for. Some late-night places open on 192 as you come down the 417. IHOP, Waffle House, Dennys. Easiest place to stop on way.

    Halloween Horror Nights 26

Kind of, definitely tongue-in-cheek, particularly toward the beginning. Among the monsters the family faces are The climactic design for Krampus himself, tho, was actually rather frightening. I expect a fair amount of puppets and the like in the house--if they pull it off, could be one people...

Limited-time meet and greet with Belle at the Magic Kingdom's Heritage House starts soon

I have to assume this is a trial run toward that. Belle probably the best known currently homeless in MK character they have, makes her ideal for it. Disney Springs is where the real money would be tho.

Limited-time meet and greet with Belle at the Magic Kingdom's Heritage House starts soon

Best escargot you ever had. (Remind me, when we finally have a drink in person, I have to tell you that story.)

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

GotG, Lilo & Stitch and Monsters Inc. are all set (roughly) in the year the movie was released. Buzz Lightyear was technically supposed to be a 1980s cartoon, although I guess set in a cartoony future envisioned in the 1980s. Carousel of Progress is mostly set in the first half of the 20th...

PHOTOS - The Polite Pig coming to Disney Springs

Far more upscale. Fancy takes on traditional Southern dishes. Really good in-house beers as well. Curious to see how they adopt the menu to be more "street food" oriented. But the beer alone will make it worth a stop. Also, if they have the biscuits they serve at Sunday brunch--get them.

A Spirited Summer Special (AKA Phil Holmes Takes Anaheim!)

More or less state-wide, yes? Heard from teacher friends the law that prohibited school more than 2 weeks before Labor Day was repealed or expired, so back to early August starts.

    Seaworld help

Wait times have been very reasonable this Summer, even for Mako. Probably not necessary.

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

Had Starbucks with a front line manager this morning--first time in 15 years no single park went to any phased closing on July 4. Facebook reports of gaps of viewing space around lagoon at EPCOT last night.

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

More anecdotal evidence: I-4 traffic on Sunday of the holiday weekend is slightly LESS than a typical Sunday this morning. Friend at Grand described it as a "ghost town," said pool is empty right now.

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

I tend to agree--if the rest of the nation (or at least the high-end tourist destinations of the nation) aren't seeing the same trend, what makes Orlando different? I imagine pricing going to be high on that list.

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

Month and a half since last update was supposed to be made. Radio silence. In the meantime, guests have voted with their feet and said no to nighttime hours at DAK. That's two reasons to believe that. But I guess Pixie Dust is a hell of a drug.

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

Anecdotally, living in the heart of Mouse Town, it has felt like a slow Summer so far. And most of the tourists I've seen have been from northern Florida or Georgia (can tell by the Gator and Bulldog clothing). As has been mentioned, Brazilians are missing, but haven't seen the typical influx...

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

Not disagreeing, but perhaps coming at it from a different angle, I think there has been a noticeable uptick in 3 and 4-day vacations throughout the year vs. the traditional week in Summer. How much of that is increased prices, how much of that is uncertainty in the economy at large, how much...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

Pretty sure Jessica Jones is post-contract, should be fine. (Theoretically of course--agreed none of these coming to WDW ever. Which makes me sad as a Krysten Ritter fanboi.) Punisher probably ok. Luke Cage, same, tho maybe he was an Avenger briefly? Was always more associated with the...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

Sarcastic question, serious answer: he's almost certainly an X-Man. And actually, he wouldn't be that much of a stretch for Universal's aesthetic ...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

Eh, started as their own thing, not sure when Spidey co-opted them fully (certainly by Maximum Carnage tho). A year ago I'd have said it's moot, but 700 Club/Family Channel/ABC Family/Freeform supposedly has a new, teen-oriented live-action version on the way. If it hits, could at least...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

You'd be surprised. Writer is very level-headed, very funny, most of the other actors had barely been to WDW before.
