I doubt that's true. If it was the green poles by epcot would still be galvanized steel. Plus you don't go to the effort to use galvanized steel if you plan to put other protective coatings on things.

Definitely cost and maintenance reasons. Galvanized is cheaper. Hence why I never said they all needed to be painted, just woulda been nice to do a few at CBB that are right by the hotel rooms.
