News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I'm saying the CM suggesting Genie+ as an accommodation is a no no.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Someone on a different site posted that a CM suggested Genie+ if she didn't get DAS in the future. That's a no no suggestion according the the ADA.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Taking notes about calls, time, CM name, etc., is always a good idea no matter the business. If a CM suggests Genie+ that's a no no as guests cannot be asked to pay for accommodations.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Maybe Disney will offer DAS as we know it now only for the neurodivergent BUT they will have to offer accommodations of some kind for other disabilities. IMO, whatever Disney decides, those interested will be back here in a few yrs. with the same discussion because cheaters will cheat and those...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

It can also vary by the business issuing the permits. There are a couple in our town right across the street from each other. Went to the first one and she said I needed a note from my doctor. I told her it was already in the system. She was rude, we left. Went across the street, the woman...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I posted they should rejoin their group through the exit. A while back, I posted about my experience when GAC was changing. People with GAC were put into the line wherever the CMs felt like placing them. We were put in line in front of a man who was indignant. We allowed him to go ahead of us...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

IMO, for what that's worth, return to line DAS will work if Disney allows people to enter through the exit to meet up with their group, otherwise, chaos in the line will ensue. I'm basing this anecdotally on my experience with the old GAC when it was being changed.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Disney won't take a doctor's note or medical paperwork. I don't think you'll have a problem because according to Disney's verbiage, DAS is made for those with autism.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Yes as I posted earlier, none of the WDW parks had no problem with the rollator integrated seat. Below is an example of mine:

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Can we just stop with figuring out how DAS will or won't hurt someone with a disability? If someone wants to take my pain and then, with no pain, I can stand in the regular line or use Genie for an LL, I would love it. Oh and be sure to ask the doc for the morphine script I was offered. I...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I brought my rollator last November and I was allowed to use it in every park. If you aren't familiar, it's a walker with a seat. The seat is also convenient because it lifts and there's a pocket beneath we used to keep the grandchildren's insulated water bottles stored throughout the day.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Can't speak for the man in the post. Since I have what seems a similar condition, I'll tell you that we're taking our grandchildren, so yes, this is my chosen entertainment option for this trip. That said, we leave or I will leave by 1pm or earlier because I know my limitations. That means by...

I qualified for the same type of issue. Now will I qualify after my trip next week, I don't know.

The only thing I could find was that the judge allowed the case to proceed but that was back in December.

Not sure, lol - if a trip is anywhere close to or goes into when the new rules apply, I'd register. I did read somewhere that a person registering for DAS was told their pass was good for 30 days. Cannot remember if the person also had an AP.

    Which resort hotel to choose

We've stayed at the deluxe resorts and villas plus CSR. They all have their pluses. This trip we're bringing our 2 grandsons who are 8&10 and so chose Animal Kingdom Resort because I think they'll love sitting on the balcony and watching the animals.
