News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Absolutely - Disney has turned off a lot of disabled people from what I'm reading. The theme parks known for inclusivity are no longer inclusive. Families are saying nope because they don't want to be separated during the trip. Some are afraid to even call Disney DAS reps because they're afraid...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

No matter what system Disney comes up with, the cheaters will figure out a way to game it. The people who actually need it will be the losers. It happened with GAC. It's happening with DAS.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

The new DAS rules for the interviews went into effect on May 20th. Those who did the video chat before May 20th and were approved were grandfathered in with the old rules. We won't see changes at WDW until June 19th or 20th. In California, the new video chat rules don't go into effect until, I...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I misunderstood and thought that if someone had to leave the line, once they returned, they would would walk through the LL to meet up with their group and not wait in the LL until they met up with their group at the merge point. Thank you for clarifying.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Federal law is 1 party consent and it has been used when calls are recorded from a 1 party consent state to a 2 party consent state. For what it's worth: “It shall not be unlawful under this chapter for a person not acting under color of law to intercept a wire, oral, or electronic...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Yes, the way are some are acting like people in the LL will part like the Red Sea. More often than not, others in line won't have a problem allowing people to rejoin their groups but there will be those who won't allow them through or who have a meltdown over this.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

No joke but reasonable for 1 disability is not reasonable for another. It's not about perfection. Disney doesn't have to be the insurer. Guests canceling trips or not scheduling them in the first place might ensure that Disney takes another look at their new policy. As has been pointed out it's...

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I could see that because didn't DAS users take up a large percentage of LLs? If 5-8 former DAS users are in line with 4 guests, that's 20 - 32 people at the merge point. Probably won't happen every day but during busier times, it could.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

And I remember my Dad having to pay per ride or buying a book of ride tickets back about 1973. This was in addition to the entry fee of $4.50. The 20,000 Leagues ride line was 90 minutes. Of course, I was 15 yo back then so a 90 minute ride didn't affect me the way it does now that I'm 66 yo.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Either this or Disney figures they have a coup with the blurb about only being able to file suit as individual. They rightly think this will scare people off because they know that the rat kingdom has deep pockets.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

It really is a shame that Disney treats the parks like an unwanted pet when it's the very pet that keeps them afloat. If you had to guess, which way do you think Disney will lean as far as responsibility for the Genie fiasco? This has me wondering how long before they announce a new system like...

I changed my post to if someone wants to file they should file with the Disability Rights Section (DRS) in the Department of Justice. I searched for ADA contact and got this: You can reach the ADA Information Line at 800-XXX-XXXX. I have the number but not sure if it's okay to post it.
