LOTR being revisited for Epic Universe?

I mean...the books are eternal. They were popular the day they were released over 80 years ago and have never gone out of print. As long as people still read, they'll continue to be one of the best selling books every year. The number of custom re-issues and special editions that come out...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

Oh wow. I'm totally wrong on this one. Well that's heartening to me. And gives me hope for my dark ride idea.

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

Not to dispute your argument but a small point of clarification: Poseidon's Fury has permanently closed. Honestly, I like that theme and felt they could have adapted the attraction from walk-through to an actual ride; this would have been an economical way to make the park super strong.

California’s Great America Closing…In Eleven Years

Cedar Fair sold the land for $310 million. You would think, that area being so moneyed and the only other amusement park being Six Flags Vallejo, that Cedar Fair would realize they were sitting on a gold mine: literally the one of the best markets in the country just begging for a theme park...

Why no simple dark rides in Galaxy's Edge?

By my calculation, Disney hasn't built a non-clone, traditional, Fantasyland style dark ride since Mike and Sully To The Rescue in 2006, and that was really just shoehorning a property into the Superstar Limo infrastructure and ride system. So it's been 16 years by earliest count. But the last...

"Existing DRSP Properties" Huh. That orange block doesn't seem to reflect what we know Disney owns now.

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

Word. Dear Disney, how come the story isn’t just: Wanna ride a spaceship?

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

Seems pretty much spot on what everyone guessed it was going to be like, nary a surprise in sight. It’s a roller coaster, the bar for it at least being a decent attraction are very low, and it gets there. But what did they spend $450 million on?

    Rank the Disney/Universal Orlando parks

Having been to all six recently: 1) Epcot World Showcase 2) Diagon Alley ....a gap a mile wide... 3) (three way tie) Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and Islands of Adventure ...another rather large gap... 6) Epcot Future World 7) Magic Kingdom 8) The rest of Universal Studios

    Disney negotiating the LOTR rights!

The current Lord of the Rings and Hobbit film series are firmly Warner Bros properties. Buying the rights from Saul Zaentz might include residuals and royalties from the New Line/Warner Bros conglomerate, but Disney cannot use anything WB made without striking some sort of separate agreement...

    Clueless tourist questions

I would suggest three park hopper days is more efficient than four one-park days. Park hopping in California is very convenient. They are a football field in length apart. I have a joke that it is entirely possible to for someone in your party to get in line for a churro on Main Street, you...

Is it possible to refurbish the ride and make it less noisy? Sounds like a jet engine every time it launches.

This would make the lift hill the same height as Supreme Scream. That's insane.

Would you like to see Disney Skyliner expand to all 4 parks and see the newly planned Brightline Train eventually connect WDW?

I don't feel like the Skyliner is any more of a visual eyesore than the monorail. The skinny cables are much less intrusive - and so much higher up - than the concrete beams. I'd like to see you elaborate on that. I love the boats at Walt Disney World. I consider the ferry to Magic Kingdom...

    All things Knotts Berry Farm

At least it's better than the initial proposal, which called for demolishing two of the prettier ghost town buildings and ruining that west side of the town next to the schoolhouse. The only point of interest for the Birdcage is the facade, the theater behind it is not any kind of historic, and...

News Walt Disney Imagineering Leaving California, Moving To Florida... EDIT: Never Mind!

I had one the other day and remember thinking “Didn't these use to be thicker? They seem to have become rather skinny these days, and as a result the chewiness inside of them feels diminished, leaving too much of the crunchy shell. Also the sugar to carb ratio is now off, since there’s not...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to begin Standby September 23rd

I went on twice this week, once in the morning and once in the evening. I would say in the AM lines average about two hours plus and drop considerably the later it gets. My evening ride I only waited about 30 minutes.

    News Reimagined Toontown coming

The concept art remodel looks nice enough. Honestly, they just needed to plant some trees, real trees, and the place would be an improvement. I think the Dream Tree is obviously fake, but whatever, surround it with enough real foliage and the place could look quite nice. I too am hoping for...

    News Reimagined Toontown coming

There's a bit of an elevation change between ToonTown's ground level and Star Wars Land. My guess is the path would go up and over the central service road (leaving it serviceable during Park Hours) before a long, gradual descent into Star Wars Land. That way everything's ADA compliant. If...
