    Space Mountain Refurb?

I'm sorta glad they're doing a refurb on it. Last time we rode it, it took forever for us to take off. I looked behind to where the command post is and they were all kind of walking around like they didn't know what was going on, then finally someone motioned for them to send us. The ride...

    hello everyone

Oh, that stinks. At the looks of that, it's almost worth the risk to take your own.

How old do you think kids should be before

Some of my mom's fav pics of me are from our trip in 82 when I was 1 1/2 yrs old. Do I remember that trip, no. But the look on my face while watching the character parade is absolutely priceless. I'm loving every minute of it. Like is previously mentioned, they may not remember it, but kids...

    hello everyone

There are some really good reasons to bring your own, but here's an idea...probably because I'm paranoid. If someone steals your rented stroller, you just go and get another one (hang on to your receipt). If you brought your own, it's just gone...then you have to rent one, anyway...

    Trip of a lifetime

I definitely recommend Birnbaum's book. I LOVE those books. And as previously mentioned, they have sample iteneraries. They also give some detailed info that you can do when you have large parties (ex/ fireworks cruise where you get to meet Peter Pan, Capt. Hook, Smee).

    Wet areas in the parks

There are a couple of spots in Adventureland. At the center of the Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a camel that "spits" on you. If you can get past the idea that the water is representative of camel spit, it's pretty nice when it's hot. Also, if memory serves me correctly, there are some...

    How Scary is TOT?

I've ridden it twice - the second time only because it was DH's first trip. I say that everyone should ride it at least once. Will I ride it again? No way, but I'm a chicken who is scared of heights. DH loved it, and my 5 yr old niece loved it. I say go or it. You may end up...

Best Character Meal for the $$

I'd definitely try Akershus Royal Banquet Hall since she's into the Princesses. We've actually tossed around the idea of taking DD there next year. I've heard that it's the next best thing i you can't get reservations/don't want to spend as much at Cinderella's Royal Table (which I would...

    Kids and Shows

My parents found that out the hard way when they took my brother to Disney the first time. He was 11 months, and my dad spent the show time at CBJ in the hall where you exit out... :)

    Nighttime At The Resorts

I agree that the Poly is very pretty at night. As for the morning, nothing can beat early mornings in FtW. The atmosphere is indescribable.

The resting place for the wand....

I hadn't realized that they had removed it. I was never a big fan of it...

    Am I just imagining this?

Well, I tried to check my Birnbaum books, but I didn't see it in my '96 book (only one I have prior to 2006, post 1989). I checked my park map from '04, but I didn't see it there, either, although several shops had been left off. I'm curious, too....I never seem to have that good...

    Birthday at WDW

We'll be in Disney World over my birthday, and we'll be spending my actual birthday in the Magic Kingdom. I've been told to stop by City Hall (with a picture ID for verification purposes) to get a birthday button. Do they do anything else for birthdays other than getting a button? I'm more...

The Great Movie Ride- What's Up??

Despite having been several times since DHS opened, we had never made time to ride it till our last trip. Now I know why. Definitely not a favorite.

    Nice Disney Smells

I like the smells of the Trading Posts in FW, but my fav is the smell of Main Street! Yummy! The WORST smell is the way the busses used to smell (they weren't that bad the last time we were down there, however). But no matter how bad the smelt, I kinda miss it. I guess just part of the...

Did I Really Just See That.....in Disney World?????

My story is probably the tamest of everyone's, but it definitely sticks out in my mind. We were at the Settlement Bus stop in Fort Wilderness back in the day where you could actually swim in Bay Lake. We hadn't been sitting there too long, when a guy wanders up from the beach - in nothing but...

    First birthday at WDW

I DEFINITELY recommend Chef Mickey's! It's an awesome character experience. My niece celebrated her birthday there the last time we went. If you do did decide to go elsewhere, you can get a cake from just about every restauraunt (that I know of), and I think they all do at least somthing...
