May is a great time to go. We have been there three times in May. [first or second week.] It has always been warm enough for the pools and water parks. Have a great time.

We've been a Visa Disney card holder since 2003. Three vacations since 2004. Ordered the Disney planning DVD. Never a pin code, though.

Two words...Spa Day. Try the Grand Floridian or Saratoga Springs. It doesnt' really even have to be a full day, just a facial or a pedicure and some 'girl time.' That's my two cents.

The good thing is that kids need less stuff as they get older. I am so glad to be out of the diaper bag era...now it's books, mp3 players and Nintendo Ds to keep track of. Eventually, you can fit everyone back into a regular hotel room.

Our family consists of the four of us, myself, DH, DD[12] and DS[10] and we "roughed it", as you call it, in a single room at the Wilderness Lodge twice and French Quarter once. We have all four survived. It is very do-able. If you do not want to pay the Fort Wildeness Cabin rate, there are...

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger...no pin code or post card visiting our house either. In 2004, we got a general, open to the public, discount of 2 kids free and approx $50 gift card free as a promotion at the time. We loved it.

Wilderness Lodge is much smaller and more confined than POR. Therefore less people. Wilderness Lodge only has 780ish rooms and POR has many, many more than that. THe water shuttle to Magic Kingdom from the Wilderness Lodge is the best ever. A great way to relax after a day at the Magic.

During our May 08 vacation at French Quarter, the busses only stopped at Riverside when going to Magic Kingdom...and only when we were in a big hurry to get there. The rest of the time, it was a direct French Quarter/park route.

I second a vote for Wolfgang Puck's Express. It's great!!!

Don't be afraid to try Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you stay there and don't like it, then don't go back. [write a review for us, though] We loved Wilderness Lodge and were very scared of what we would find at the French Quarter after reading horrible housekeeping reviews....well, lo and behold...

I personally would spend it on tickets for our next Disney trip. And a couple of personalized Christmas ornaments.

From our first hand experience...French Quarter was quieter in the rooms than the Wilderness Lodge.

We have used Disney Reward Dollars for 3 trips and have not ran into a problem with restaurants not accepting them. We use them everywhere...except the alcoholic beverage place at Typhoon Lagoon. That is the only place in 3 trips that did not accept Disney Reward Dollars.

You'll love it. Go for it if it is free.

I hate the Disney website. It's slow, cumbersome, and never wants me to browse quickly.

There were pirate and princess parties last April and May.

Maybe they changed the ratings when Disney came out with the '4 nites, get 3 free offer' and they anticipate bigger crowds.
