    Drive to Disney

We've gone down 5 times from upstate New York, pulling a travel trailer, and yes it's a long haul. I recommend doing an overnight stay along the way. Otherwise unless you have several drivers you're wiped out for a day after arriving.

Power outages at some resorts (2/3)

Well at least they identified a need. :joyfull:

Power outages at some resorts (2/3)

We were at Ft. Wilderness and on Jan. 23 Trail's End had a power failure and we got free breakfast. They used takeout boxes and plastic plates for the buffet. On the 24th we had a half hour or so power failure at our cabin.

Poll - Disneyland or Walt Disney World

Love them both, but WDW is closer. If I lived on the other coast it would be DL.

    Regular Disney goers...

We have stayed at Fort Wilderness, both the cabins and camping, Pop Century, and the All Stars. We're AP holders, but still tend to go back to resorts we know.

Who else here prefers a stay at a Value Resort versus a Deluxe?

I'm totally unwilling to pay for a luxury hotel room when I'm at Disney. The room is not why I came and only go back to sleep. I'd rather spend my money on other things.

    50's Prime Time, what happened??

The last couple of times we at there including April of this year, the food quality had dropped and the menu also had changed. My wife ordered a milk shake and the ice cream had partially refrozen. It had virtually no liquid content. It's off our list for now.

Are value resorts tacky and poll: Which Value Resort is the best?

With the refurbishment at Pop underway, the refurbished rooms have had a significant upgrade. I just got back and the replacement of the tub shower combo with a full shower with rain shower head and hand shower as well as the tv upgrade, the Murphy bed/desk, and the coffee station and...

    Resort TV Channels (current list)

I was down in May and the Allears list looks correct to me.

    All-Star Sports

Stayed at All Star Sports many times over the last 17 years. Resort has clean rooms, decent food court, and save money by less amenities. I would recommend being away from the pools as they can be noisy. Some would prefer Music or Movies as sports teams often are at Sports. Personally it never...

    Trail's End Menu

Trail's End is a must do on each trip we make. It's the best priced buffet and the food is good to great depending on how high end your tastes are. It's not the place for high end dishes. It's frequented by those of us who want fried chicken, barbecued ribs, cowboy beans, chili, salad, and...

Which All Star Do You Recommend?

I've stayed at all 3, but usually end up at sports. All are good, but the rest is personal taste. I like sports, but wouldn't hesitate staying at any.

WDW to Raise All Buffet Prices By Almost 50%?

I have to agree that the prices at WDW have gotten to high and the food quality and taste has gotten worse. I was at Disneyland a couple months ago, talk about night and day with quality and taste. However prices are still too high, but that's been the norm at Disneyland.

    Magical express routes

The time varies most based on how long it takes to leave the terminal. Once you leave the terminal I've never had more than an hour and often 30-45 minutes.

When getting to WDW from Orlando (MCO): Magical Express, Rental Car or Taxi?

Many, many times I've come in between 10 PM and midnight. Usually it takes about half an hour or so to go from the gate to the bus and depart MCO. Often there are three resort stops along the way with higher price resorts being first. There is a film for amusement and information along the way...

When getting to WDW from Orlando (MCO): Magical Express, Rental Car or Taxi?

Magical Express as I don't get off property and use Disney's transportation.

    Booking Magical Express from Airport?

Magical Express is free. Be sure to give your flight numbers to Disney. A few weeks prior to your flight you will receive what you need. If you tag your luggage with the yellow baggage tags, then it will go directly to your hotel with no need for you to pick it up. If you have a late flight...

Would you be a cast member after you retire?

I voted yes. Working 20 hours or so a week at WDW would be a job and an income supplement. I don't come in with rose colored glasses. It would be work and part of that is being pleasant to sometimes rude guests. Depending on the job the occasional ability to make a child smile would be enough of...

    Which Value resort to choose

I've been to Pop and the All Stars many times. Prefer Pop for the food court, but still like the All Stars. I've had to share buses sometimes, but often during the morning it was separate buses and also at park closings. You'll be fine in either case.

    Which room at Pop Century?

The distance to the main building isn't terrible from any of the buildings. If you would like to avoid the pool noise, take a standard room as you'll be on the backside of the building more than likely..
