Towards the bottom left corner of the original concept art, you can see a bridge crossing over what looks like a strip of water that divides the new Cars area from the rest of Frontierland.

It certainly isn't the sort of thing they'd build now. That's no bad thing; quite the opposite.

But it definitely didn't join up with the waterfall, whereas now it does. That to me suggests at least some sort of revision.
