The Engaged at Disney World Club

My DH proposed at the gazebo (sea breeze point) on the boardwalk in 2004; there were benches then. Immediately after I said yes, you could hear the fireworks from IllumiNations. We have a great picture with one of the fireworks going off just behind us. It was truly magical!

    Homemade Dole Whip Floats!

Thanks to my amazing DH, we were able to briefly be transported to the Magic Kingdom with our own homemade pineapple dole whip floats. They truly tasted like the real thing, however slightly creamier, as we used milk instead of water. Any treats you like to make at home to remind you of the world?

    Could this be true?

Thanks for the postings. We are booked at the BC for the 1st time and I was just looking into the CS options for breakfast. I will sure miss the morning trip to the food court a POR, but I think my short walk to EPCOT will make up for it.

    Help with Resort Selection

We've stayed at both CSR and POR 3 and 4 times respectively. They are both beautiful resorts with great food court options. I would base your choice on the styling of the grounds you prefer, as they are both expansive with multiple bus stops (as opposed to POFQ). We like the alligator bayou...

    Any hidden gems out there?

Another vote for Sanaa. Great food and atmosphere. Jiko is also amazing, especially sitting at the chef table where the flat breads are prepared!

    How young is too young?

We took our son when he was 8mos, 18mos, and again at 2yrs 2mos. He always had a great time and definitely was entertained on all trips. At 18mos just walking around was fun for him but at 2 he knew what he liked and requested certain rides and 3D movies over and over. Make sure to enjoy all the...

    Swimming supplies for infant?

Swim diapers have a pretty wide weight range. May be good to buy some at home and pack a few with you. You could also get a diaper cover online or at babies r us for use whenever in the pool. Buy a little bis so he can use this summer too.

First trip to Disney w/3 year old

I'm going to have to agree with your choice of the Polynesian. With the ease of the monorail, it's your best bet. You are allowed to keep your stroller open on the monorail as opposed to the buses, so just in case he falls asleep, you don't have to wake him. Also, it's a short trip to MK, which...

    A question about Riverside

We love riverside and have stayed there our last 4 trips. The grounds at riverside are big with the buildings spread out along winding pathways. That's one of the reasons we love it. We love the walks through the bayou section. Although it's large, it's still quiet and serene. We even saw an...

    Thoughts about Jiko??

It was luck. We were staying at AKL at the time and went in to make our reservation and they just offered it to us. We hadn't known it was available. It may be best now to call ahead and request it when making your reservations.

    Thoughts about Jiko??

Jiko is amazing! One of our favorites in Disney! If it's just adults, sitting at the cook's table (where appetizers and flatbreads are made) is a great experience. The cooks there chatted with us and gave us little samples here and there. Wonderful!

    Yes, another tipping question

The wait staff doesn't get paid by what you have paid for your dining plan. We just were lucky to get free dining and always tipped based on the total price the meal would have been. All the money you make as a waiter/waitress basically comes from tips, but you have to share that with bussers...

    Please, suggest some restaurants

Raglan Road is a great choice. Good food and a fun atmosphere! We went to Teppan Edo for the first time in March and were able to get in without a reservation no problem. The meal was great. They have 2 sides - one is normal table service; the other hibachi style where they cook in front of you...

    Mmmmm... Steaks?

Jiko's Filet with Mac & Cheese is amazing. I've had it there twice and both were equally good. By far one of the best filets I've ever eaten anywhere! It's also a great dining experience and you get to spend a little time at the beautiful AKL!
