    Disney World Buses Go Green

(mini thread hijack) I'm in the process of buying solar panels now - hoping to have them installed by year's end. I just hope if I resell my house there is some resale value in it - one big drawback maybe. And I heat my pool with plain old black tube on my roof. Works great! I'm hoping to...

    Disney World Buses Go Green

Cool machine. I've often heard it said that Florida isn't a candidate for solar, but haven't read anything where trials have been conducted by independent orgs and have failed, or anything else to back that up. Most of what I read says exactly the opposite - that solar is working very well...

    Disney World Buses Go Green

I know enough about the proposed plant to stand by my post, although I do certainly welcome your comments. As far as modern coal plants being "very clean", we'll just have to agree to disagree here. There is little out there I believe is further from the truth. While this isn't a 1912 coal...

    Disney World Buses Go Green

Interesting. It would be worthwhile for Disney to be consistent, though, in their "green" policies. Perhaps they could take this opportunity to back out of the Taylor Energy Center being proposed in northern Florida - a proposal to build a COAL power plant; a decidedly non-green energy...

    Pirates Animatronic Update?? Info Anyone?

Good work Martin! :) The asian pirate has been there as long as I can remember. I do remember head-swaps taking place in the past. Just 2 years back I remember the hanging-leg pirate had his head swapped out for a few months for some work.

The Orlando Sentinel thinks Epcot's 25th may happen...

Just passing this on, for those who care: In passing a few weeks ago I mentioned to a good friend of mine inside Disney in Celebration about EPCOT not having a 25th celebration and his response was (cryptic and winking as always): "Who said there wasn't going to be a celebration?" And so I...

    Space Mountain Refurb. Jan. 2008

Sorry to be a buzzkill, and thank you for all your insight - but if it were up to me, they'd leave this ride as-is. I enjoy thrill rides, and the nostalgic in me would love to be able to ride SM as it is for years to come. It's thrilling enough now. That rear-seat whiplash leaves a longer...

Who Is Responsible For Mickey Mouse?

Sorry. :ROFLOL: It's a really good question and I can't wait to hear some insight about it, too.

where are the 20k leagues vehicles buried

I'm always up for an adventurous/fearsome hike. By the way, I like your avatar. I used to work in Rapid City, SD, during my college-years summers, and some people there still told legends about the Gem up in Deadwood.

    WDW-style Marauder's Map

I noticed Disney.com provides customizable maps these days. Then I also noticed a thread about Wonders of Life no longer being on the maps. That got me thinking. How long before Disney comes out with maps you can carry through the parks that show your exact location within the park - sort...

    Vegetarian Food

Agreed. My wife and I are both veggies/vegan and we usually get out of Animal Kingdom when the first rumbles of hunger start. And we also noticed the irony about "animal-free" menus not being available in Animal Kingdom. :p Otherwise we're able to find enough veggie options to keep us...

Budget to Remove Wand Approved for this Fall

Take this for what it's worth - and it's a RUMOR only - but I was told by my someone reliable that the wand was scheduled to come down during the 3rd week in July, just after the ride closes. I thought this was way too early considering the recent discussions going on here, but I just thought...

    People with APs

I'm about 85 minutes away in Pinellas County and average about the same as you, although a bit less than you in the Fall & Winter. We usually spend 3 or 4 Saturday night sleepovers on property per year as well - so that we can drink in adventurer's club or raglan road without the driving home...

    Buh-bye Innoventions "Road to Tomorrow"!

Agreed. And interestingly (and conveniently) enough, EPCOT Center's original design is beautiful in its simplicity. Tear down the towers, the awful netting above that area around the EPCOT pin station, and kill the wand. Let EPCOT breathe again.
