Three weeks ago, I never in my wildest dreams thought that my trip at the end of March would be cancelled. This morning, I never in my wildest dreams thought that my rescheduled September could be in jeopardy. Now, well, I'm not sure when I'll get to WDW again...

I imagine it'll be like the security theater they've been performing at the entrance of parks for the last 5 or so years. More of a show than an actual preventative measure.

Apologies if it came across as a generalization. I can only speak anecdotally to the people I've chatted with over the last few days.

I was referencing the seriousness with which the virus is being treated. There is a certain level of flippancy I've seen in flyover country.

And now this... maybe it will be open sooner than May...

In my line of work, I have clients throughout the United States and Canada. It's very interesting to see the differences in different regions of the country. Anecdotally, the South and Midwest are weeks behind the East and West coasts; I'll leave it at that.

I mean, I'm being smart, social distancing, isolating, and had a WDW trip for this week cancelled. We rescheduled for September, and I'll Wally World the place if I have to in order to get on the ToT.

It's like WAPO reported, there's a fine line between keeping people alive and tanking the economy. Plus, I honestly don't think that the US population would stand for 15 weeks of this. People will just stop giving a *bleep* after 2 or 3 weeks.

And WDW is closed effective March 15.

Because economical collapse and public health/safety is a fine balance.

Well our hand has been forced. Husband is a travel agent, and we can't push the date out. So we go or they close.

Luckily, we have the ability to self-quarantine when we get back (which was the plan all along).

I appreciate the feedback and insight. I think I'll still monitor the situation for the time being and make my decision at some point today. I'm going to heavily rely on insiders like you when making this difficult decision, so just know how much your insights are valued and appreciated.

I need all of my fellow Disney nerds' advice. We're scheduled to leave March 25. We're really struggling with whether or not to move the trip to September, not so much out of fear for ourselves, but fear that we may get there and have the place operating with limited offerings or shutting down...
