We have been to the Wilderness Lodge Villas and absolutely love the atmosphere there and the quaintness. Next year, we are thinking of going to the BCV. From the pictures, it looks like a lot of cement there. Do you think we should try the BCV or stick with the Old Faithful of WLV?

Love Boma, Kona Cafe, and Whispering Canyon---also love Wolfgang Express in DTD (it counts as a COUNTER service)--every meal we have for our family of 5 was just at $100 there!!--best bang for buck for counter and very good food.

We took a taxi on property from Wilderness Lodge to Animal Kingdom to eat at Boma since we were under a crunch for timing and the busing can be a bit unpredictable--well worth the $20. Kids really felt it was cool to, for us to have our own little taxi van driving us...we got a little dressed...

wow, that is interesting because the first wk of Oct this yr had very pleasant weather most the wk...mids 80s and low humidity most the wk and hit record lows at night in the low 60's.....make for sipping morning coffee on the porch at OKW very relaxing!

Never been there, but sounds fun and I love german food....wife and kids really dont so what types of food are on there they would still enjoy? Family style tables are ok, unless you get stuck with some bozos I guess.:ROFLOL:

reply we will be flying there so no rental car, wondering if they have a service to pick up bags and put in new room--just streamlined so I dont have to hassle on my vacation---glad to hear your Aunt does it and enjoys it! thnx

We are planning for 8 nights next yr at Disney thru our sister in laws DVC. Right now considering 3 nights to start the trip at OKW and 5 nights at Wilderness Lodge Villas....the other option is to stay at WLV the whole time....been to both resorts and like both (kids like WLV more) but each...

We are planning to go this same wk next yr(2010)--how were the crowd levels....we are concerned about school fall breaks. We usually go first wk of Oct. and crowd levels (except for weekends of course) are fairly light for Disney standards.

any ideas on "must do's" in and around the resort?...never been to down town disney either (ideas?), but will plan on taking the boat there.

This is quite confusing--it may not be consistent with each CS restaurant. For example, if we eat a CS at Peco Bills, according to the menu(below)--my kids will only have a choice of a Burger or salad with chicken?....... Meals BBQ Pork Sandwich served with fries or apple slices $8.69...

We booked thru a DVC member so did not pay the "rack room" rate......no free dining plan because of that. Still the amount of $ we saved on the 1 bedroom villa more than makes up for the free dining plan!--thnx

We have purchased the counter service plan for Sept '09---do our children ( all under 9) have to order off the "kids" menu for the counter service. I know that would have to if it was a table service, but not sure of counter.:shrug:
