It’s nice. Always best with family, but when solo the parks are a great place to get exercise and enjoy the fun vibes and entertainment. I spend less in the parks. I’m choosier about which parks to visit. Since I’m in my late 60’s, the single biggest change for me is less tolerance/enjoyment...

Realistically, How Much Time Does Matterhorn Have Left?

I’d like to point out that the Giant Dipper wooden rollercoaster at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk opened in 1924. It’s 101 years old, and it’s still one of the best rides in the world. It requires constant ongoing maintenance, inspections, care, and periodic refurbishing to keep in tip-top condition...

Epic’s Meteor Astropub: Tracking Down The Music

Meteor Astropub is rapidly becoming my most-visited restaurant at Epic Universe. It’s centrally located, the burgers are fantastic, it has a bright, relaxing atmosphere, good views of Stardust Racers and the main fountain… And the music loop is wonderful, jazzy and fun. It sounds like what...

Yes! Gee, I can’t wait until some studio takes the public domain Pooh characters and gives them THIS treatment!

So I saw a Youtube trailer for the new all-animated 2026 Cat in the Hat movie and for one second thought, “Oh! Maybe this one will do it right!” Watched the trailer. No, WB, the problem with the previous movie wasn’t that it needed to be MORE obnoxious and LESS faithful to the source material...

Makes it far less re-rideable, too, at least for me. (But, these days, does Disney even WANT people re-riding anything?) The script is my biggest complaint, and the ride could be much better and more cohesive with a rewrite. At this point, I don’t think it was a great idea to drop the idea that...

Thank you! 😀 I get the feeling of what they were going for with the Horizons-like back-and-forth narration dialogue, more detailed sets and a couple of callbacks to World of Motion. For me the tone just seems all over the place (Happy, happy, LOOK OUT!!!!! Happy, happy LOOK OUT!!! 😄) I really...

Seriously interested: In what ways do you prefer this to the previous version (which I think had problems but was effectively focused and thrilling)?

Oh, great. Now it’s obnoxious, unfocused, condescending and grating. Why do Disney remodels keep making things (IMO) WORSE? (Edit) The projection before going outdoors is nice. Too bad the doors open up to… the same backstage drive-over. They seem to have really destroyed the suspense of that...

IMO, The Switch 2 is worth getting just to play Mario Kart World. Somehow they found a way to make MK even MORE insane and chaotic. As was the case with MK8, this is like an E ticket theme park ride you can take anywhere. Photo mode is kind of addictive too…

Maybe he wants to see how Epic’s in-ground lighting was installed. 😃 And I hope he rode Monsters Unchained, Ministry and Hiccup’s Wing Gliders. But especially Monsters, because Disney could use a high-capacity scary crowd-pleaser like that in all their parks.

How To Train Your Dragon Live-Action Remake Review I generally don’t like live action remakes of animated movies, but I thoroughly enjoyed this new version of How to Train Your Dragon. The original animated movie is one of my favorite films of all time, with its brilliant screenplay, fantastic...

Yes! Disneyland was lightning-in-a-bottle, the result of the right man at the right point in time with the right brother and right team of genius artists. Its heart—its origin—wasn’t the creation of a corporation. It was Walt and Herb alone with a drawing board and tuna sandwiches. It can only...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

I’m on your side, but this’ll be a huge, spectacular attention-grabber for the park and probably sell a lot of APs to thrillseekers. Hopefully a great, lengthy, themed family coaster in the range of Hiccup’s or Hagrid’s is being planned for the near future, as it seems park owners are becoming...

I did get a kick out of a Skyliner trip last year from DHS to Epcot when a woman sitting across from me glanced out toward a fenced area and calmy said to her friend, “Oh, look. I guess that’s where they store all their rainbows.” I thought she was being sarcastic, but then I looked out the...

I’m glad you pointed out the better sights—and, truly, any aerial view can be fun, and Skyliner is certainly fun; I just don’t think it’s as fun as a transport ride inside a park. But Skyliner is useful, efficient, and free to ride. No downside.

Yes, but Skyway gave great views of DL and MK. Skyliner gives great views of mud, retention ponds and traffic. I still like it a lot, though. 😃 Actually, I’m ok with no Skyway. Because certain individual brat kids would spit on people. Over the years, I got struck twice. And that was in the 70’s.

I miss Californian Elitist’s contributions. We sometimes disagreed on particulars, but she’s a well-spoken and intelligent person to trade thoughts and opinions with. A good presence.
