What is the Mount Rushmore of Imagineers?

The whole “Disney” thing that happened from the creation of Walt Disney Studios to Walt’s death was lightning in a bottle, for sure, and the careful, staged manner in which Walt and his crew were presented to the public was definitely a huge part of it all. One of the many things I love about...

What is the Mount Rushmore of Imagineers?

Due to recent news, Christopher Merritt is now one of my Rushmore candidates. 😃

What is the Mount Rushmore of Imagineers?

Okay, see, all THIS discussion revolves around what I love so much about the classic era of Disney. So much creation, originality, improvising and down-to-earth hard work coming from this glorious tornado of talent, personality, conflict, compromise and cooperation…. All under the eye of the...

What is the Mount Rushmore of Imagineers?

i cannot pick just four, no matter how hard I try, because it involves so many different fields. Absolutely, Davis, Baxter, and Hench need to be there, but after that there are just too many great artists and engineers to choose from. For me, personally, I couldn’t leave out Mary Blair or Rolly...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

I’m not sure, but maybe that’s the minimum height required for the AR to match up with the sets. I agree about wait time vs. payoff. I went through the full queue once to see it all, but now I do Single Rider every time; at Epic, Mariokart’s standby wait is often over two hours, sometimes over...

I have to speak up for Mariokart. I didn’t ride it until Epic opened for previews, but I’d been following the reviews, so I went in knowing what to expect… And I absolutely love this thing—More-so with each reride. It took me a couple of rides to fully understand what the rules are and what...

It’s in-between. The Village of Darkmoor is a very detailed small land that extends past Frankenstein Manor, getting more woodsy as it loops around and through the Werewolf coaster back toward the portal area. It’s got a big (but concealed) restaurant, a small awesome tavern, two shops, the...

Monsters is such a great ride AND a people-eating crowd pleaser that I’d say absolutely. Also, the motion-sickness factor of FJ is practically a complete non-issue on Monsters, making it do-able and re-rideable for more guests. Just as DL uses the same ride systems on multiple attractions, I...

This ride—or at least an adaptation of it—would be fantastic at USH. It’s become the MVP of Epic; In addition to being a great ride, it’s also been super-reliable and a huge crowd-eater. No matter how crowded Epic gets, one can always count on a fast-moving line at Monsters.

Fun local news over here in Florida! This ride is my favorite at Epic—I contributed at least 40 ride-throughs to that total. 😃

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I’ve always had the impression that Sallah, worried about Indy, “recruited” the next batch of tourists (us) to act as an emergency makeshift rescue party.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Just watched the new Zootopia 2 trailer. Boy, yeah, that is certainly a Disney sequel trailer through and through. The best takeaway: More alt-universe world-building, having fun with addressing how a multi-species civilization might function. Worst takeaway: The trailer’s predictable laser...

Coffee for me. Mint chip’s pretty great, though.

IMO, is currently the best park in Florida.* *When everything is working.** **But even when first-year-glitches happen, I’d still rather be there than any other Florida park. It’s pretty. It’s new. And the food is great. 😃

Keep in mind that in the Pokemon world, the creatures love battling each other, never die or bleed, and have zany personalities and egos like professional wrestling characters. It’s a cartoon fantasy universe based on an 8-bit game inspired by bug collecting. I don’t think anyone back at its...

It could take its cue ftom the Snap game and be an on-rails dark ride with cabins you can rotate (Maybe an omnimover?)

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

For the U.S., a ride (I’m imagining) would probably have to be an interactive collection adventure (kind of like the Pokemon Snap game) with endless re-rideability. The Pokemon world has a fun premise; what if every animal species on Earth had a unique superpower and could potentially be...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

I’d love to see that, but it’s probably still too niche a property over here for Universal to risk in a U.S. park. It’s gotta be at least as familiar to Americans as Transformers or Pokemon.

Today the Pokemon Company announced a permanent theme park land called Poke Park Kanto opening next year at… well, Yomiurland, not Universal. I gotta say it looks like a perfect way to present Pokemon as a theme park land. Half of it is a large park/forest exploration trail (sort of like...

    To Knott or Not?

Best log ride on Earth. That, plus Calico Mine and the rest of Ghost Town make Knott’s absolutely worth doing. And thrill-lovers will find plenty to make them happy.
