See, now we’re in total subjectivity territory: The Dreamworks example I’m okay with in a comedy (And I think HTTYD, KF Panda and a few others have fantastic character designs). Chicken Little, for me, is the definition of “off-putting.” 😃 It depends on the context: I never cared for the...

Used Planco 2 to make: “Casey Bros. Mine Country Tours.” In my head, they’re voiced by John Ratzenberger. Their motto: “We said ‘scenic’, not ‘smooth’.”

It’s not the animation style that bothers me (I like about 1/2 of the character designs)… it’s the way every time anyone in the trailer says “You’re not funny,” I’m thinking the same thing. Nothing in this trailer strikes me as funny, engaging, or anything but tired, forced, obnoxious...

Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain vs Indiana Jones Adventure

I disagree on the importance of the Chamber of Destiny. Even when if worked, the effect was so quick and rushed that most riders never even noticed what was a very clever practical effect. The ride is just as effective without it, IMO. For me, Expedition Everest is a mediocre, uncomfortable...

DL 18+ Lego Sets I’d Love To See

I love that Train/station set, and would get it in a heartbeat if it got rereleased, but I’d really love to see an even more detailed 18+ version. I love the idea of the FL dark ride set— The mountain set too!

Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain vs Radiator Springs Racers

I think EE is a very mediocre coaster. Not bad, just meh. Boring layout. Uncomfortable vehicles. Nonfunctioning effects. And, of course, the immobile statue with the strobe light. On the plus side, the big lift is wonderfully intimidating as you start the climb, and the animated shadow Yeti...

Hoping it’s themed to Back to the Future. Ghostbusters would also be a fun choice. Or Jaws; the thought of shark coaster vehicles gracefully swooping and diving along the park skyline makes me smile.

    Simpsons land?

The problem for me is what the replacements end up being.

    Simpsons land?

At this point, I’m done giving a rat’s patooty what Bob-era Disney does (I think the Last Straw for me was the announcement that they were replacing classic Frontierland at MK with a new corporate definition of “Frontier” that includes talking cars). They can tear down Main Street and replace...

Here in Orlando, Universal just sent out word that the exclusive Passholder gate will be available at IoA EVERY morning in 2025 instead of just during select dates. This is fantastic news for locals, and something all theme parks can learn from: it’s important to find out which perks really help...

I’d been looking forward to the reveal of the Wizard of Oz land at Australia’s Movie World park. YouTube walk-throughs of the newly opened area have hit and…. I really encourage everyone to check one or two out, because it will really make you appreciate Universal and Disney (and Knott’s and Sea...

    Why not in California?

I honestly can’t think of any situation that could ever get me to justify spending the asking price for GS, no matter where it was located.

This past month has upended my whole favorite ride list. Now that I’ve somehow stopped getting motion sick on Forbidden Journey, it’s become one of my favorite rides ever. Dang, those dementors are properly scary. Can’t wait to see how Monsters Unleashed utilizes this ride system.

So far I think this ride looks like a lot of fun—a good family coaster… and the track illusion, at least in the video, really works for me. I’m just worried about the capacity. Aside from that, I think it’ll work as the wacky novelty coaster in Epic’s lineup. I agree it should not replace Mummy...

Well, the ride certainly is free of long, slow soliloquy ballads bringing the story to a screeching halt… but on the other hand, the film’s “This is Halloween”“What’s This,” and “Oogie Boogie’s Song” scenes are masterpieces. And the movie doesn’t derail Haunted Mansion for months every year. I...

What worked for me was making sure I was hydrated and not riding on an empty stomach. During the screen sections, I tried to imagine it as an actual flight experience instead of a movie. Also, I yelled “wooh!” a lot. 😃 Another factor I’m sure helped was Hagrid’s, which I ride frequently. The...
