WDW is within a separate town called Lake Buena Vista, and all utilties are owned and operated by Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID). All totally separate from Orlando proper as I understand it.

Yes, it's worth a trip! There are multiple viewing areas of the different savannas around the resort, and the dining options there are great. Bring some binoculars and plan to spend a couple of hours there.

Ohana is also a must do for us. We've never done the luau, mainly because it gets poor reviews, and we've already been to a "real" luau. If you want a dinner show I'd recommend Hoop de Do. As for the fireworks, the best thing to do IMO is eat at Ohana, then head out to the Poly beach to watch...

I think you'll be good either way, but I'd go for the December dates. The first 3 weeks after Thanksgiving are supposed to be the "best" time to go, although I can personally vouch for the week prior to Thanksgiving also having low crowds.

I heard that it was Aug to December, and buses will be provided to the food courts at the other AS resorts. Isn't this also in the middle of pop warner? I would stay away from the All-Stars during those months!:eek:

We used frog togs last time at wdw in August and they were pretty useful.

I suppose you could park at one of the other MK resorts like the Contemporary and just ride the loop. You'll have to tell the guard that you're there for a meal reservation, and they should give you a temporary parking pass (good for 3 hours I think?).
