Candlelight Ceremony 2017 - Chris Hemsworth

Who other than Beyoncé is a big enough star to attract capacity crowds? Maybe Harrison Ford. There are enough celebrity appearances at Disneyland that don't draw capacity crowds that it's hard to imagine who could be famous enough that Disney is worried about the crowds they'll attract.

News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

San Diego Comic Con is one of the oldest, largest, and most popular Comic Book Conventions. It's popularity helped shape modern comic book culture. An argument could be made that comic book culture is as Californian as car culture. Personally I don't think either land or Paradise Pier fit the...

    Lasseter Taking Leave of Absence

He should have been fired back in 2004 when the young producer on his show recorded a phone call from him in which he described in lurid detail what he was doing to himself and what he wished he was doing to her.

News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

The Incredibles coaster reminds me of Palm Springs. The coaster will now be the part of the Pier that is most reminiscent of California, but the least reminiscent of a Pier. When this project was first announced I thought/hoped they were going to finish the Victorian themeing and slap some Pixar...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

James Cameron has a track record of going way over schedule, way over budget, generating a lot of negative publicity then releasing the highest grossing movie of all time. As unlikely as it seems, I bet the next 4 Avatar movies are huge successes.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

There are probably some ADA and safety concerns that make Storybook Land Canals a prime candidate to be removed. As much as those boats rock while loading/unloading it's amazing they don't tip over more often. Especially as the the average weight of park goers increases, those boats feel more...

Black Panther M&G coming in 2018

Wait, did I miss something? I thought the plans for Marvel Land were in flux. I think this is the first time you've said that the line up is pretty much set.

Wookies, & Rebels, & Droids... OH WHY?! The Anti-SWL in Disneyland Thread

I does not it represents a single IP acquisition. By your logic if a single IP can represent California car culture then single IP Star Wars can represent a world of fantasy in Disneyland.

    Going to Club 33

Ok I have some time I can at least start writing a trip report I first met this Club 33 member a little over a year ago and they offered to make me a reservation. At the time I didn't know them very well. I appreciated the offer but didn't feel comfortable asking for the reservation. Fast...

Wookies, & Rebels, & Droids... OH WHY?! The Anti-SWL in Disneyland Thread

You pride yourself on theme integrity. HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT CARS LAND FITS A CA THEME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? It is a single IP acquisition themed land. It is literally everything you spend all of your time on this bored saying you hate. Don't parrot the corporate line that Cars Land represents...

    Marvel Land Discussion and Rumors

If Main Street had failed to connect to the majority of guests in the first nine years, then absolutely it should have been changed. How would it be any different than changing Sunshine Plaza to Buena Vista street?

    Going to Club 33

I did get to go and it was amazing. I've been busy and haven't had time to write a trip report yet but I'll gladly answer questions.

    Marvel Land Discussion and Rumors

Marvel fits in California because of California comic book culture. Comic Con is one of the oldest and largest comic book conventions and it's based in California. It makes as much sense as Carsland.

News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

I pretty much feel exactly the same way.

News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

I don't know, but I'm not an imagineer. They should be able to come up with something better than cheap off the shelf rides "themed" to a boardwalk amusement park.

News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

Seaside amusement parks are not quintessentially Californian. They exist here but aren't really part of the culture or heritage of California. Most people associate the kind of Pier/Amusment park depicted in Paradise Pier with Coney Island or Atlantic City. Beach culture is part of California...

News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

I was really hopeful that this was just going to be an expansion of the Victorian theme with some Pixar characters slapped on the signs. I could live with Pixar names on the signs if this project succeeding in unifing the Victorian theme. The new concept art is much more kitschy than I expected...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I think the Motorboat Lagoon / Autopia is a better location for Frozen than Toon Town is anyway. At this point I'd rather them wait until after Galaxies Edge opens and use the opportunity to completely overhaul Tomorrowland.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

That would be amazing. I'd much rather Toon Town remain, anchored by a new ride rather than have it become a Fantasyland expansion anchored by a mini Frozen Land. I think Frozen will eventually get an attraction though and I hope it gets an amazing E ticket and not an alright C ticket. I'd hate...

Will the demise of the Eastern Gateway at Disneyland be a death blow for businesses on Harbor? - OCR

It won't have any effect on the hotels but it would have an effect on the restaurants. The restaurants benefit from easy access for guests leaving the park to eat. those restaurants are neither the cheapest nor the best options outside of the park. Why would anyone choose to eat there if they...
