When I choose save as I'm only given the two options I mentioned.

It gives me the option of PDF or Photo project. Frustration is setting in!

I would. I did that earlier this year. I went on a package with my folks, and convert my 7 day ticket to a annual pass because I knew I'd be going again in September for 10 days. The cost difference was cheaper than buying a 10 day park hopper pass. By all means, do it at the start of the trip...
