But Disney is having to deal with a lot more permitting, labor issues, and other red-tape that they didn't have to worry as much about in 1982. Epcot only took as long as its critical path items. With enough labor, equipment, and money anything could get done in a quick amount of time...

If you want the semi-Vegas experience, you can just drive to Atlantic City. (yes, not the same, but close) If you end up at Disney, drinking around the world, Jellyrolls, and Atlantic Dance are all great times.

Every time I'm in Epcot, I hope for a change. It will happen at some point. Maybe soon, maybe 10 years later.....all you can do is hope.
