Had a great stay in Big Pine a few years back. Booked a Garden View, but ended up with a view of the Lagoon (not MK, but Southward towards the Poly, which was great for us). As Tuvalu says, close to both pools and easy to get anywhere. Was good being near the beach when the fire alarm went off...

I'd also vote for Beach Club. Best pool for a ten year old and, although you give up MK proximity, you are walking distance to two of the parks. Was never a fan of the Contemporary. I have stayed at all Deluxes and rank it last.

I'd have to go with AKL...hard to match the atmosphere and the dining is great. Poly is a close 2nd for sentimental reasons, having stayed there as a kid (when the World was MUCH smaller) and then again with my kids.

I think they still give them out at the front desk to guests checking in, but I also don;t recall them giving them to Ohana "cousins".
