Miley Cyrus 16th Birthday Bash at Disneyland

Hmm...Oct 5th, huh? The proximity to the Oct 3rd/4th and that mess seems too coincidental. I betcha it was originally planned for Disney World on the 4th but got moved to DisneyLand for some reason....

    Rainy Days and Water Parks

Yea, I grew up in Louisianna. Tropical storms don't concern me much. But my mama did teach me never to swim in the ol' bayou when there was lightening :)

    Rainy Days and Water Parks

That would be fun for me, not so much fun for an 8 year old who was expecting to swim to her hearts content that day! Sounds like I'll stick with the DisneyQuest idea as a backup plan, maybe manage to throw in a ride on the monorail for grins and giggles (we stay at the values so riding the...

    Rainy Days and Water Parks

We leave tomorrow and Faye has thrown a kink in my master schedule. We have a room only reservation for tomorrow night and Saturday night, following by a package reservation starting for Sunday with free dining. Our park tickets are on the package. We like to hit a water park one day on...

    Towel animals ?

We've never gotten any, despite healthy tips to housekeeping every day and lots of toys in the room (neatly organized however, so housekeeping didn't have to deal with them) indicating a young one was in it. :( They've never even done an interesting "scene" with our stuffed animals! I...

    Problems with pins on planes?

Metal scissors metal with pointed tips and blades shorter than four inches in length are allowed. Pins have only a small sharp point - probably half an inch or less. You'll be fine. And body piercings, which are probably the closest item to pins, are allowed as well.

    Sick For Disney :(

Yup, it's fabulous! And at least you only have to choke down the pills twice a day :animwink: The other good thing about it is that I generally don't need to take any other cold medicine when I take the Mucinex - it seems to thin everything out to the point where I'm not bothered by it...

    Sick For Disney :(

    1. Drink LOTS of water. Lots. Did I say lots? That thins everything out so your body can eliminate it easier. TMI, I know, but really, it is one of the most effective things you can do and it's cheap! 2. Get a good antihistimine, in case it is allergies. I prefer Zyrtec (or the generic...

    Buying Tickets At WDW

Nope, she's just queen of the one day trip. She will often fly in somewhere early morning and leave late at night, or early the next morning. Drives me absolutely nuts!! But as long as she pays for dinner, I'll tolerate it

    Buying Tickets At WDW

Ok - I should really know the answer to this one after so many trips, but I've always purchased packages with tickets and never had to deal with this! My sister will be joining us one day on our trip. She's going to meet us in the morning at the hotel for breakfast, then we are going to...

Birthday present idea for an 8 year old

My daughter turned 8 in May, and we are heading for our 5th Disney trip in 11 days. :sohappy: At this point, her love for Princesses has completely faded, replaced by a love for anything High School Musical, Hannah Montana or Jonas Brothers. I think she still "secretly" likes the...

Pirates of the Caribbean Beach Resort

"Magic Your Way plan" makes no sense. It seems to me they just left out "dining", as in "Magic Your Way dining plan". I doubt they are going to give anyone booking a package free food without seriously upping the price of packages, and doing that in this economy seems like it would be suicide...

    BBB / Costume question

I think the girls know themselves well, and would just go with what they say. I seriously doubt at 11 and 9 they will want a costume - my daughter is 8 now, and wouldn't be caught dead in the parks in a costume anymore (except maybe for special occassions, such as the Halloween or P&P party...

Delta Air doubles fee for second checked bag

Obviously you've never been a victim of "misrouted" checked baggage for a long period of time. How about viewing yourself as lucky, and not just jumping to thinking the worst of everyone else?

    24 hours EARLY

I searched the website for availability of the value resorts on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th. The only day that didn't have any was the 7th - is this the day you are arriving? If so, then I'd say find a place just outside of Disney to stay cheap for the night. If you are arriving on one of the...

Fantasmic gets cut to just 2 shows per week

Natural gas prices are on their way up significantly as well. The "acquisition" cost on my gas bill (the amount the utility had to pay for the gas) went up 20% last month alone - and that's just comparing it to the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, I'm sure it's much more...

    Water Park footwear ???

I was all worried about this last August too, when we went to Blizzard Beach for the first time. We ended up wearing flip flops to the park, but as soon as we got there we realized it was no big deal to just walk around barefoot. Now granted, we were there only from 10am til about 2pm, and I...

    calling for discounts

That's referring to the cost of tickets - once you are past 5 days or so, adding extra days to tickets only costs a few dollars. The hotel rates do not get cheaper the longer you stay at Disney. You may see changes due to weekday vs. weekend, or a change in seasons mid-stay, but there is no...

    calling for discounts

I've been thinking about this some more. Room (this is without dining): 10 days @ $100 = $1000 7 days @ $190 = $1330 The ticket price difference between a 10 day and a 7 day ticket is only $6 (unless you got the no expiration option). So, if the prices are what you said for the...
