DAK AVATAR land coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

In this photo from the D23 video it has what appears to be the same “mountain” but instead of being one column by itself it now has connecting mountains, are these the same or other mountains? Also from the same screen shot there appears to be the map of Pandora, but it is very blurry so i...

DAK AVATAR land coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

Expedition Everest is 199 feet. I think that the floating mountains will probably be in the 150 ft range if i was to guess. Just like Everest though this will be in a complete corner of the park so you won’t be able to compare the height of the two when near the Tree of Life, and i don’t think...

    New Maleficent Parks Costume

That new horn headpiece is definitely a thousand time better than the current one, can we at least get that lol

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

Yep, I have heard the same, as well as some people seeing some of the new permanent set pieces back by DHS Central Shops, which you pass on the backlot tour. I don’t know how i feel about the location though, but i find most characters in that location as strange, just me.

State soliciting bids for I-Drive rail; closes at end of month; may go to Disney

Because using rails that where only designed for moving of goods directly translates to moving of people really well too :banghead: Idk how popular it will be but at least the norther parts (Church street to Altamonte) has access to a lot of people. We shall see. I will definitely be riding it...

State soliciting bids for I-Drive rail; closes at end of month; may go to Disney

That is a very interesting outlook, that i wish would be seen by Universal and Disney. If they worked together to boost orlando tourism they could both win. Having a transportation network that connected Disney, Universal, OCCC, and OIA would be a huge bonus for tourists and locals alike. Now...

State soliciting bids for I-Drive rail; closes at end of month; may go to Disney

I would think down the road they will, as other forms of transit are seen as more convenient and economically better choices. There is not a Huge demand for park to park transportation but an issue some have had is resort to resort transport for things like going to different restaurants or the...

State soliciting bids for I-Drive rail; closes at end of month; may go to Disney

Yes gas is currently taxed, very little, by both the federal and state levels. The federal tax has not increase since 1993 and half of states have a gas tax that is over a decade old, which means that the federal and state tax does not even take into account the inflation that has happened in...

State soliciting bids for I-Drive rail; closes at end of month; may go to Disney

High speed trains would be useless here, since the distance is so small. High speed (200 km/h or 124 mph is what the ICs are quoted at top speed) is great for going between major cities, but not a few miles away. Light rail is really the scale that is being looked at.

State soliciting bids for I-Drive rail; closes at end of month; may go to Disney

I think parking alone would not drive for public transit, cause the individual could easily pay to park at Pointe Orlando or not pay at all for most places along i-drive. Parking prices usually leads to people either not going or finding an alternative that isn’t too inconvenient. Now adding...

State soliciting bids for I-Drive rail; closes at end of month; may go to Disney

Transportation in any form is expensive, and the greater good must pay (taxes) for it to even exist. That is regardless if it is a train, bus, personal car or monorail. Car owners pay to use their car buy physically owning one and fixing it and buying its fuel, but they never directly pay for...

Prep Work Has Begun for New Direct Ramp to Disney Springs Garage

Yes, one could say that past planning was poor for future issues, but how do you predict the future so far in advance that you put in-place the infrastructure that will satisfy a resorts needs for decades to come. As with any urban development, WDW is a growing and breathing city. It does grow...

Liberty Square to Frontierland walkway expansion

My favorite part is that the rocks on the back pathway are now at an angle at top so people wont try and stand up on the ledges to watch the parade, since it was completely unsafe.

New Main Street U.S.A bypass to be built to address entry and exit congestion at the Magic Kingdom

Did they already have access through the the gate before? Since it was only a small walkway before and not an actual park gate i don’t think the gate was used to have large emergency vehicles go through it.

New Main Street U.S.A bypass to be built to address entry and exit congestion at the Magic Kingdom

Just something to note that there is a corner of the security office outside wall (just above the cardboard bailer) that is painted thematically. instead of go away green it is mud red and the gutters are painted black. not sure if this something that all of the 2nd story backstage buildings...

Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

Main Gate - Yes. ID - No. Due to being both a first day for FOF and 2nd weekend of spring break season for WDW. Yes the parade is starting in Frontierland from what I’ve heard.

Cosmic Ray's outdoor patio to be enclosed with work starting this week

Severely improves guest and kitchen efficiency, even when families have to go to different bays, the dispersing of all the people around the restaurant helps move everything so much more efficiently then you would think. Since this is the busiest and most efficient QSR in MK, its even harder...

New Main Street U.S.A bypass to be built to address entry and exit congestion at the Magic Kingdom

Yep i was back there Sunday and saw that as well. Changed the old small hallway to backstage into two large grates, also the wall has the same green wood flats for a small section so when you look between the gates you don’t see a backstage wall. Also they have cleaned up and made that whole...

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

If you notice there are only larger trees off to the left and right flanks of the new circle, just south of the new FP+ viewing and by the expanded seating areas. This will hopefully make it so those flanks and lower two horizontal paths would become walking paths to exit the park or go out into...

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

They are in the outer ring, opposite each other, one by the Tomorrowland path and the other by the Adventureland path. Im wondering if they will actually go with that beautiful beige color pavement, or if thats just apart of the artistic rendering. Personally I’m just not fond of the off red...
