    All Star Vacation Homes

We stayed there over MLK weekend and wanted to let folks know it was a great place to stay. We rented a 3br/3ba town home. Very clean and neat. 10 minute drive (at most) to get onto World Drive into the parks. Bob

Touring Plans 6 or 7 rating - How bad?

Over MLK weekend I believe we experienced what would be levels 6-7 at MK, DHS, and AK. If you get to each park at opening, ride the more popular rides first and use Fast Passes you should get to do those rides without much wait. You can take in the less popular things later. Don't even...

    MLK Weekend - 1/17 to 1/21

One more comment. I rode Journey into the Imagination with Figment. IMHO, that ride has to be the biggest waste of time I have ever seen. There were only 3 of us on the ride that I could see. Just empty. The ride should be shut down and replaced, ASAP. What was done must have been the...

    MLK Weekend - 1/17 to 1/21

I was surprised at the levels as well. Tour Guide Mike's predicted levels were completely wrong but "Touring Plans" was close but still wrong. If the attendance stays this high I'm not too sure when we'll be back. On our next trip we planned to go mid-December to get between the crowds for...

    MLK Weekend - 1/17 to 1/21

So, I’m back after 6 days in Orlando and I thought I’d offer up my experiences and observations as a small way to pay back all the great info I’ve gotten here. I’m not going to bore anyone with too much of the day to day tedium of the trip. Overall We were there from Thursday 1/17 and...

Rent a car or not rent a car? That is the question.

Rent the car. I would recommend doing so even if you're staying on site. It's much quicker and more convenient than waiting around for buses. The only time we did not drive to a park last time was when we took a boat from the WL to the MK. At AK we parked so close we could walk into the park...

    Sheratons Vistana Villages

We stayed there last January on a trip to Universal only. Loved it. We didn't use any of the facility, just a place to sleep. Liked the kitchen and laundry. Bob

Follow Up-Kids Thrown Out of Disneyworld

Maybe Disney should either ban Pop Warner altogether or make them pay for extra security? From reading this I know when my wife and I plan a December trip in a few years it won't be during this time regardless of where we are staying. Bob

    Kids Thrown Out Of Disneyworld

If you don't evict them all who's to say the the kids that were left would not have retaliated in some way? I'm sure that's the root of Disney's policy. It's pretty obvious that few if any adults were taking any responsibility for these children's actions. Who would allow kids out their room...

    WDW Brochure from 1974

Glad you all like them! It was pretty neat looking it over. I'm also very happy my mom never throws anything away. Bob

    WDW Brochure from 1974

I scanned in this brochure and put it up on my personal web page here: http://home.comcast.net/~rwdavis/ My mother dug it out of the attic last week. Bob

    Disney Dining Plan

Sorry for the thread drift (since your question's already been answered) but I've been reading these boards for some time and most reports of larger groups trying to do everything together are not good. You all may want to break up every now and then. Have a great time, Bob

    Mid January crowds?

The parks are relatively empty. We ONLY go in January so as to miss the crowds. One of the slowest times of the year. Bob

    Flying Southwest

Nothing unique to Southwest on this situation. Most any airline will do this yo you when they think it's in their interests. Bob

    Crowds at Thanksgiving

From everything I've read, they a re pretty bad. Just remember the entire country has a holiday that week. I would think they would build all week, peak on Thanksgiving and stay that way until Sunday. Bob

    Disney/Universal Trip Planning Question

Agreed. You can do it all in less than 2 and that's riding some things more than once. BD

    jan. crowd levels

We ONLY go in January for long weekends (kids are off). Last time was 2004 and no waits except Test track because it keeps breaking down. We'll be there over MLK in 2008 and hope the crowds are fine. I've Tour Guide Mike in reserve just in case. Bob

    Larger women riding rides

The mild version should be OK.

    Larger women riding rides

Unless your MIL is in excellent health she may want to avoid Mission: Space altogether. It puts quite a strain on the heart and the acceleration effectively doubles ones weight for brief periods. Good luck! BD

    Local traffic near Disney

Another look and we'll be getting on 192 about 2 miles west of World Drive.
