We went last year the first week in December. Crowds were small. Prices were good (had a free dining plan promotion) and yet the Christmas decorations were up. It was a great time to go. I've not been later during Dec so I can't comment on the time nearer the holiday but we're very crowd averse...

Anyone know whether Disney has considered updating tomorrowland speedway with the theme of Pixar's Cars movie? Seems like that would make this attraction an even bigger hit with today's generation of kids.

Ah - very good point. I was going to say wouldn't Disney only install lap bars once there was an incidence of someone falling out? But like Master Yoda said - it's to save people from themselves perhaps. There are a few places a person could stand up and hop out where Disney wouldn't want them...

I haven't tried Casey's yet. Always thought - why would I go all the way to WDW to get hot dogs when there's so much other great food there... but I hear it's REALLY good. So we're gonna try it when we're down there in a couple weeks.

There is chewing gum in places on Splash Mountain. People reach out and stick it on the sides of the ride when they're in an area of the ride where they can reach. Kinda bugs.

Wow - we saw people walking in with nothing other than ticket/money/phone and were ENVIOUS. We've got 4 kids 7 and under and we are like a traveling army with all our equipment. Extra clothes for when the baby gets messy, diapers, many many water bottles, snacks, camera, blanket to drape over...

Does everyone use the resort pools in December? I'm going in a couple weeks (Dec 1-6, Port Orleans Riverside). Last time we went it was HOT (90s) and it was great to be in the pool... but I believe WDW area in December is more like mid 70s during the day, upper 50s for the low.

I hope this counts as "positive recommendation" and not a pan on an existing ride... because my kids LOVE the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. But I'd love to see them rebuild the cars into cars from the Pixar movie.
