Are we the only ones who stay all day?

Interesting - Thanks for the replies - good to hear we're not the only family touring all day. Even stops throughout the day for cinnamon rolls or brownie sundaes are a chance to slow down and relax for a bit before hitting it hard again. Yes I agree - we have a double side-by-side stroller...

When will we see Disney's next thrill attraction?

I agree with googilycub. I can get "thrill-only" rides anywhere. I go to Disney to get the entire experience, the theatrics, the mood, the artistry. Those points are more important to me than an attraction's ability to get my adrenaline pumping. And it's not just the attractions that attribute...

    Good stories about sharing tips?

Anyone have any good stories about when you've shared a Disney tip? I'll never forget being in line at SM behind a very tired and irritated young couple. They couldn't both go on because they had a young child. It was hot and near the end of the day and I could tell from the tone in both of...

Are we the only ones who stay all day?

I've read over and over about how trips to WDW with kids absolutely require a mid-afternoon trip back to the resort for naps and/or pool time. But we never do. I have 4 kids ages 8 and under and we go from park opening to closing, 5 days in a row. The littler ones sleep wherever they can - in...

    Tiki Room needs some refurb

I'm with you. I like this show. I got a huge kick out of seeing things all around me moving that were built into the architecture.

18% auto tip with 5 people plus infant

Exactly. And, while we're bashing auto tips... what's with charging auto tips for a family of 6? At any restaurant in the "real world" what's the magic number? 10? 8? I think it's even reasonable for a group of 6 adults... but a mom, dad, and their 4 kids? I just don't see how that's so enormous...

18% auto tip with 5 people plus infant

Both times we've been to DW we've had 2 adults, 3 pay-for kids, and 1 infant. Total people paying for = 5 Total breathing human beings = 6 The DDP instructions say 18% tip will be added automatically of parties of 6 or more. And we're always auto-charged. I always thought that was...

    osbourne lights

Last year I asked a CM when the "show" started, where the best seats were to view, how crazy it would be to try and walk through the street during the show, etc... and the CM clarified that it's more of an atmospheric type of show, rather than a stand/sit and watch show. Sure, there are...

Where in WDW would you like to be a CM???

those of you saying street sweeper on main street are genius. I didn't even think of it but you're right - it would be perfect. I'd want to be one of the monkey gymnasts in the Lion King show... but first I'd probably have to learn how to do gymnastics. :D Also - the answer is different if...

    Creating an agenda

I use Google Docs spreadsheets so I can share with others (family, etc) who will be there with us so they can see it in real time and add notes if they want to. The spreadsheet has the operating hours of all the parks for the days we'll be there, our ADRs, and notes about special events like...

    Shout out to Parents

thanks - great post. And so nice to hear from someone w/o kids who isn't only frustrated and wishing the kids away. And you're right -- it can be a challenge (I have 4 from age 1 thru age 8) but it is worth it! No where else, no other vacation, would they be as good as they are at DW, because...

kids meet height requirement depending on shoes

My kids meet the height requirements, but it is close, and actually might not depending on which pair of shoes we bring. Don't get me wrong, we don't dress our kids in 70's style platform shoes. But was wondering... Anyone have experience with a cast member challenging that this or that...

    Next Generation Fastpass?

Thanks for the reply devoy1701. I'm neither an AP holder (at 2 trips per year it about evens out) nor a Florida resident. Does that mean I'm stuck to rack rates posted on the disney website? Sounds like those are the sources of the discounts you mention.

    Next Generation Fastpass?

OK - forgive me - perhaps another thread to explore this might be helpful... but I need to inquire further. My family and I will go in September for our 3rd trip in 18 months. Each time we stay in POR because it's cheap. I would love to stay somewhere else just for variety's sake... How in...

What merchandise to you buy at WDW?

This is a great thread - gives me some ideas of things to look for. In fact, I was going to buy a bunch of pins on eBay prior to our Sep trip but after reading this post I realize -- it's just not the same. Gotta get the pins there at WDW. I usually get a pin or two. And we give the kids a...

    All atractions in one day

This thread is for park-goers without kids. Haha. I have 4 little ones, will never be able to keep up but that's ok. I don't stress about getting to a billion attractions in one day because when I don't fit them all in it'll make me even more bothered by the crowds than I already am...

    Cracker Barell ALWAYS before Disney!

Ditto. The only exception is McDonald's McFlurrys. It has become a tradition -- We get McFlurrys wherever we can. Bahamas, London, Paris. Got Cadburry Egg McFlurrys in London - YUM!

For those of you who do ADR's

We do exactly the same - a couple favorites and a couple new ones. Trying 50's prime time for the first time so good to see it's one of your favorites. Doing Sci Fi too -- I've read some aren't fans of that one but we really like it. Also doing 1900 Park Fair for the first time - looking forward...

    Pack's in WDW

Ditto on this sling pack thing. Does the exact same thing as the pack (same cargo space, etc) but w/o the stigma. Swings around to the front easily for rides unlike backpacks. Used it on a trip to Europe, too, and can't do vacationing without it.

    2011 Dining Plan Changes?

I've used the DDP 3 times over the last year and a half and we actually love it... of course the fact that during this period there have been a couple "free dining plan" promotions might have something to do with it. But that's another thing to think about - how will they do a similar promotion...
