Buying a vacation condo in Orlando area

A question for locals and experts on the Orlando area. My wife and I are seriously considering purchasing a Summer/Vacation condo in the Orlando area. I have looked at several properties on line, and I am amazed at how inexpensive they are right now. Can anyone give me some advice on where...

What is the funniest thing you overheard another guest say in WDW?

While walking through China in EPCOT, I overheard an elderly gentleman ask his wife, "Why are there so many Asians working here?" His wife replied with, "I think Disney hires people from Vietnam to work in the kitchens." "Oh, I see." said the man. :lookaroun  :lookaroun

    What's with these people!?!?!

Absolutely. The singing, clapping and forcing their way through to the front of the line sounds just like them.

What is the strangest thing another guest has asked you in the parks?

"Can you take our picture?" I know, doesn't sound strange. However, this often asked question lead to a strange experience for me. My wife was using the restroom so I parked myself at the closest bench. A young couple asked me if I could take their picture. "Absolutely" was my response...

Driving from Northern Illinois to Florida

We are from Joliet. It's a beautiful ride through Tennesee. We usually stop in Cartersville, GA. It is about 30 miles north of Atlanta. It's a little farther than half way. We leave early enough so we miss the traffic of Atlanta. We also get into Orlando fairly early. Sometimes we just keep...

    New Roller Coaster at US

On October 20th, it was shut down til around noon. I spoke with a young lady who told me it was not operating on the 18th and 19th as well. I'm not sure how true this is. My wife and sister-in-law were able to ride that day. The wait at that time was only 60 minutes. They both loved it!

The wierdest things that will give you the disney feel

Here's an odd one: I am sure that most of you know that the water in Florida has a certain "aroma." To me, it is kind of a sulfer smell. It also has a funky taste. I notice the smell every morning when I take a shower at the hotel. Occasionally where I live in suburban Chicago, my tap water...

Annual Pass question....should we get them?

The wife and I are headed to the World in October for 6 days. We are also considering a trip in May for my birthday. I was checking out prices for admission tickets, when I realized that it would probably be more economical in the long run if we bought a couple of annual passes. I know you get...

Do You Remember Your First Disney Attraction Experience?

It was July 4th 1976. I was only 5 but remember it very, very well. I remember the whole park decked out for the Bicentennial. My very first attraction was Dumbo. I also remember the Hall of Presidents and Pirates of the Caribbean. I thought the animatronics were real. Funny how I can...

    War Of The Living Dead

I am a HUGE zombie fan myself. There has been a lot of zombie themes at HHN in the past, but this one seems to be very different. I am really looking forward to this one.:D

    Halloween Horror Nights: Saw

We are going back for the 5th time in as many years. The Saw house looks wild! Apparently, when you walk through the maze, you are activating mechanisms that kill/torture the victims on display. The whole theme this year is awesome. Dusty old movie theater with a creepy looking usher. It's...

    Appliance Direct

Maybe I am weird, but I enjoy some of the commercials they play on local Orlando television. Commercials here in Chicago are so boring. I can remember a few years back, my wife and I getting a real kick out of a commercial for a car dealership. I think it was Honda and they would have a bull...
