    Magic Band Accessories

No. If you choose not to wear the bands, then you will not get the additional experience. It may seem like a glass half full statement, but the same was true for PAL Mickey. You didn't have to buy one, but if you did, you received additional experiences.

Mowgli meeting at DAK today only 5/14/13

A half naked Jasmine is hot, a half naked man pretending to be a boy is creepy. A full body stocking just looks weird.

    MK Mine Ride Construction Update

You also have to consider for any project, there is the most economical timeline. Anything quicker increases cost, sometimes exponentially. Doubling the workforce on a project might only decrease the time by 20-40%. There are lead times for parts. There may be constraints on resources (e.g. rock...

Disney introduces Electric Standing Vehicles for guests with disabilities

I think we are agreeing. Yes, most places of employment have to be ADA compliant, so do churches. That was my point. Some people were saying private companies do not have to be compliant, that is not the case. There are exceptions for private residence and private clubs, but most places of...

    More Tree Issues?

NextGen is not about eliminating turnstiles. It is an upgrade to all WDW customer facing IT. Wifi, in Park mobile apps, updated room locks, purchasing, personalized experiences, quicker resort checkin, pre-planned itineraries, etc. People may not like all of the changes, put at least Disney has...

Disney introduces Electric Standing Vehicles for guests with disabilities

Your using the wrong definition of "public". In this case, it is not in terms of government vs private company. It refers to entities that are open to the public (ie movie theaters, stores, restaurants, etc.) vs a private club that has restricted membership.

Disney introduces Electric Standing Vehicles for guests with disabilities

This is also true for service dogs. There is no federal registration for service dogs, so many people are putting vests on there dogs and getting "licenses" from Internet companies to claim their untrained pet is a service dog. This means they can bring them on planes, in restaurants, or any...

Dreams Come Alive and MSEP rebuild

I am not sure the parades at DAK or DHS are an attendance draw. Part of the function of the parades is to help spread out crowds during busy times of the day and reduce wait times. Something that is not needed at DAK or DHS. Nighttime shows and parades help keep people in the parks later. DHS...

Dreams Come Alive and MSEP rebuild

Of course the MK version of MSEP originated in 1977. If you can only keep one nighttime parade, it makes sense to rehab the currently functioning parade which has the longer history then try to resurrect floats that are in unknown condition. I also seem to remember that there were safety issues...

Dreams Come Alive and MSEP rebuild

Considering how lights pop up for parades and windows open to expose speakers, I bet Disney can figure out a way to raise the garland to allow the floats to pass under.

MyMagic+ 'Mobile Lobby Experience' uses iPads to check-in guests curbside

Unknowingly we must have participated in this in August at Wilderness lodge. We arrived by car and unloaded at the front and gave my name to the bell hop. After self parking, I was walking back to the entrance when I was met by a Cast member with an iPad who addressed me by my full name. She...

Fastpass+, a solution to "overwhelmingly negative" responses from families

The execution may not always be perfect, but the concept of FP is well established in many industries. Instead of large crowds waiting in long lines for the most popular rides, you take some of those people out of line and spread them out over other rides with shorter lines or eating/shopping...

'Disney Springs' - Downtown Disney expansion officially announced

Taking time to complete the project to spread out the capital expenditure makes no sense. Most of the costs will be depreciated over the anticipated life of the project, so it does dot matter if it takes 1-3 years to build, the cost is spread over 20 years. It is in Disney's interest to complete...

'Disney Springs' - Downtown Disney expansion officially announced

If true, Disney wouldn't rent them any more. Obviously there is a market for various water craft. Last time at the MK we saw their brand new $1million yacht that is available for rent. I forget the cost, but it was obviously targeted at companies and top VIPs. I just thought it was funny to pay...

Rumor- Magicbands will be required for some character meet n greets

Every choice you make in life comes with some "punishment". If you decided to ride Space Mountain, you might miss a parade. If you don't purchase a park hopper pass, you can only visit one park. If you stay off property, you don't get extra magic hours. If you choose not to wear a magic band...

Rumor- Magicbands will be required for some character meet n greets

Your over thinking this. It doesn't matter HOW a character knows your name, it's the fact that they DO know your name. Our last trip to MK I saw a "friend" of the talking trash an in Tomorrowland. I said my 7 year old son's name loud enough for the friend to hear. When the trash can started...

    Drowning in pop century hotel.

You can't have just one life guard. To properly staff a pool, you need multiple life guards who can constantly scan all areas of the pool and have additional guards available for breaks. You either fully staff the pool or have swim-at-your-own-risk. I am sure Disney has done extensive studies on...

    Drowning in pop century hotel.

My two boys and I were at Wilderness Lodge last year when they were doing some training. We went for a swim in the morning and there were about 20 life guards at the pool. During the drills, there would be a life guard at each station on duty watching guests, life guards participating in the...

Changes coming to minimum age requirement for park entry

So the current policy allows an 8 year old to enter the park by themselves? I can't imagine putting my 2nd grader on a resort bus and saying "have a great day at MK, see you tonight?"

Will Discovery/Treasure Island Ever Be Seen Again?

The problem is location. A small island only has one mode of transportation. Disney will not put guests on the island overnight if they can't easily get off the island. Same is true for a large scale attractions. The other issue is infrastructure and resupply. While the island has power, what...
