Cross posted from the snow white thread- Nostalgia Critic had a great video recently in response to Snow White about how Disney has an emotional storytelling problem. I think he's spot on with snow white and wizard of oz... and I get what he's saying about Where the wild things are though i...

Meant live action... but still nothing from the new film? TP take note... I'm babbling on about something about Disney strong arms theatres into keeping their film on screens for a longer amount of time but upon some light research just now, Disney is strong arming the other way and doing a 45...

Pacing with the Marvels there, thus why 100m is doubted domestically. Depending on the harshness of next week's dropoff, breaking 80 mil is in question right now.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

What is Disney's contract with theaters? I recall hearing that Disney was particularly brutal with theaters requiring they show their movies for a longer period than other studios. I wonder a couple things- 1) What is this period? I assume that as soon as that point hits that theaters will...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

Lets do some glorious wrongly rounded, arm wavingly BSed calculations! $14,200,000 for the 3 day weekend -> (3 days) $4,733,333 per day -> (4,200 theatres) $1,127 per theatre per day -> (lets use 3 screen average since I've noticed the multiplexes have cut the # of screens they're wasting on...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

A group of Disney friends just departed Ft. Lauderdale on the Disney Dream for a cruise to Cozumel and Castaway Cay. They mentioned Snow White is showing on the boat and were wondering if they'd be drunk and bored enough to go fall asleep seeing it on the boat.

Oof, downright atrocious. I saw Friday had a drop of 77%. The rumblings of its boxoffice keep plummeting... whispers on the net now questioning if it will cross 80m domestic O.o "It likely wont even make back its advertising cost" has also entered the chat.
