Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

A union cannot just absorb a group of workers that is already covered by another union. It isn't remotely that simple. However, I agree that all of entertainment should have better representation. Even the Equity ones. And especially the AGVA and Teamster ones.

Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

Disney World chose to negotiate with Equity many years ago. It is a more respected and has a bigger membership than AGVA. Disneyland chose AGVA, for reasons I don't know. Being a member of both, I can assure you Equity has a lot more clout and can play hardball. This translates to both positives...

Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

To be clear, neither of those numbers are entirely correct, and all union salaries are 100% negotiable. And they DO negotiate, if you've got the talent. It is true, however, that all of WDW is generally on a lower pay scale than DLR. mostly because it is significantly more expensive to live in...

    New Monorail Fleet for WDW

Correct, but it doesn't change the fact that it costs you 5 bucks for a round trip. Ouch.

Then don't go to ride the monorail in Tokyo, whatever you do.

    myMagic+ Upcoming Test(s)

The KTTW card and magicband are one and the same. You can interchange them at will. So if you didn't care for wearing the MagicBand (perhaps at a formal meal or special occasion when it would look ridiculous or if you got tired of having it on) the KTTW card will do exactly the same thing...

    myMagic+ Upcoming Test(s)

Just so you know, you can select ANY option A,BC,D and then change the return times or attraction individually as often as you like. So don't sweat the return times they give you, you are free to tinker with them as much as you want.

    myMagic+ Upcoming Test(s)

Obviously as invited guests we did not have the option for a dining plan, but seeing as the current room keys contain your dining credits now, I'm confident that they will also be in the bands. And yes, the waiter at the sit down restaurants can bring a scanner to you or you can give them your...

    myMagic+ Upcoming Test(s)

Sadly I don't know anyone that has done the MK, but frankly when it comes to that aspect of the satisfaction ratings, CMs aren't going to be the ones to ask, as we clearly don't need to see everything in a day like many visitors do. That will have to come from the actual guest tests. However, I...

    myMagic+ Upcoming Test(s)

Yes, was part of a CM group. To each his own on the look of them. We all liked them a lot better than any other ID wristband we'd experienced at spas or resorts around the world, and certainly enjoyed it better than having a gift card on a slinky like is common at F&W or the cards on rubber...

    myMagic+ Upcoming Test(s)

I took part in a test this weekend. Was invited for a hotel stay and given a magicband and linked it to my credit card. Everything worked flawlessly except the fastpass reservations, and the only glitch they had there was in our favor (when changing our fastpass times it accidentally gave us new...

    MK Mine Ride Construction Update

Didn't have a way to take photos, but there are several sections of walls down now, revealing the transition wall and some of the fronts of the new areas. It's getting closer to completion on that side.

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks (Part II)

That appears to be the intention. Harrison Hightower of TDS is a member of the same exploration society as the owner of Mystic Manor in the attraction's backstory. The same logo (SEA) even appears there, and it is also present in TDS' Tower and the Fortress Explorations. This seems to be the...

    Splash Mountain falling apart (literally?)

Truth. And TDR is also 100% non-union. Which means OLC can essentially write their own rules with their employees. Having worked there, I can attest that salaries are actually DECREASING for cast over the past decade, and yet their attendance last year was record breaking. I love TDR ad they do...

    Who's going?

Having lived in Japan extensively, I am guessing there will be at least one panel solely focused on Duffy, and a LOT of character greetings.

The lighting in the area was all turned on tonight, including the Tangled lanterns. Looks like its getting close. The tower was also illuminated, though I can't recall if it was like that before...

    Hollywood Studios entertainment overhaul

Kids AND adults. It was beautiful. As I hear it from some friends of mine in the show, the stunt Jasmine made a balance check mistake and caused the weight to overturn the carpet. It is designed to stop and hold in the performers (which it did), and the way I hear it, was NOT a mechanical...

    Hollywood Studios entertainment overhaul

As of July, it was not flying. I feel like we'd have heard about it from other sites if it had been reinstated into the show. Hope it's soon, that scene is pretty poor without it.

    Starbucks at MK ....

Makes sense to put it at the bakery for sure, they're essentially catering to the same market. As for DHS' location, it's entirely too small, but is there room to expand Starring Rolls bakery? It's a perfect location for it, on the corner of Sunset and Hollywood. They also would not need to add...
