Grossest thing you ate at the parks?

I've always lucked out at Coral Reef. I haven't had anything there I didn't like, which is kind of miraculous considering how often we've visited. Even my beloved Jiko has served me some duds. I think part of what's helped me at Coral Reef is that I've never ordered any non-seafood dishes...

Grossest thing you ate at the parks?

The haggis at the Scotland marketplace made its debut as a vegetarian item, but word on the street is that it changed to a traditional version this year.

Grossest thing you ate at the parks?

Maybe an oldbie can set me straight on this, but I really think they may have added the "sweet" to the description at some point for clarity. I just remember a really stark contrast between expectation and reality on that one.

    Hidden Gems??

I've always suspected, perhaps optimistically, that Shutters could be the most hidden of hidden gems. But even though we've stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort, I still haven't made it over there. Is it not a part of these conversations because its reputation is so bad that nobody wants to...

    Best Drinks on Property

The Joy of Tea kiosk in the China pavilion.

    Hidden Gems??

I don't think it's cheap either, but it is the least expensive table service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. They have several entrées under $15, which isn't true of any of the other TS locations in the park. The most expensive dinner entrée is $18.99 meatloaf dinner. That's on par with the...

    Hidden Gems??

I wouldn't consider the Plaza a hidden gem. People like it because it's one of the most inexpensive table service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom, and because of that, waits can be long and the place is always packed to the rafters. There are better ways to eat a sandwich in WDW. Olivia's...

    Best Drinks on Property

Todd English's bluezoo, for sure. Their cocktails are the most unique and well-executed on property. The selection is diverse, so there's something for every taste. Plus, when you're done there, you can afterparty at Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk!

Grossest thing you ate at the parks?

OMG, it's the worst, isn't it?! I ordered some pesto monstrosity, but the only discernible flavor was overcooked noodle and canola oil.

Grossest thing you ate at the parks?

The cream cheese-stuffed pretzels. Until that point, I didn't think it would be possible for me to meet a soft pretzel I didn't like. I wasn't expecting it to be so cloyingly sweet, though.

    What Haven't You Eaten??

Yeah, I think it's been at least five years since the Strawberry Swirl left us.

    ADRs for a large group!

I would try calling. Even though "grand gatherings" aren't really a thing anymore, there are still some ways in which dining with a large group can be treated like an event of sorts. I called group dining to make some reservations for a group of ~20 on the days before and after our WDW...

    What Haven't You Eaten??

We've never eaten at any of the buffets or character meals. I just have no interest. We haven't made it to The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Café, Turf Club, or any of the new Disney Springs eateries yet. Those are places I actually would like to go.

    Wedding Photo Question?

Wedding attire is not permitted in the parks during regular park hours unless you're being escorted in for a private wedding event. The only way to have bridal portraits taken at the Magic Kingdom is to book a session with Disney Fine Art Photography. The current cost for a one-hour Magic...

How hard is a V&A Chefs Table Reservation?

We've only dined in the main dining room, but I'm told by plenty of know-nobodies who have had the pleasure of experiencing the chef's table that it's not as impossible as all that. You can't waffle, though. You have to call the restaurant's dedicated reservation line first thing in the...

    Eggs Benedict

Just about all the table-service breakfasts at resort restaurants have some version of Eggs Benedict. Olivia's also makes a good one.

Countdown to our Disney Wedding :) a step by step report of planning our wedding

Yay, you're in the home stretch! I'm looking forward to your report back after the wedding and honeymoon. Some stray observations: I'm currently subscribed to this thread and receive alerts when you update here, so I hope that for all of us following along, you will post a link to your trip...

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

We set ourselves a loose itinerary and we do make dining reservations, but we don't plan down to the minute. We're not rope droppers, and we don't stay until close. I've never been one for Fastpass of either generation. We know there's always going to be a next time, so we don't stress over...
