IIRC the change also had to do with it making more sense for him to be yelling out into the street rather than to us the audience who are supposed to be invisible.

The new upcoming refurb is only lasting a day, I doubt they’re doing much besides general maintenance.

Yep, and recently they got another thing wrong, listing an original Disneyland Haunted Mansion tombstone as being from “Tokyo Disneyland 1969, with faux aging”. The aging and wear is original and is why the tombstones were eventually removed from the berm outside because they were looking sad...

They were going to go forward with the Play! aspect and were already renovating the pavilion but then the pandemic happened and it was put on hold because a lot of the elements were interactive and required touching the displays.

The moon surface was scrapped because the forced perspective didn’t work. There’s still plywood cutouts of the surface up there painted black in the dome and there used to be a 3D surface on the floor in the space station room.

Unfortunately I doubt we’ll ever get closure on Buzzy due to the controversy, I’m not the only person that feels this way. Spikes has always been a sketchy guy though and he obviously knows more than he’s been letting on.

He worked for Disney 15+ years ago and helped out with a lot of stuff, he’s shared a lot stories and photos on his Twitter and blogs over the years. Just search up “Hoot Gibson Disney” and you’ll find tons of stuff.

According to a recent reply these are not the Spaceship Earth figures, not sure what actually happened to those. The figures shown are actually 7 inches tall but obviously based on the SSE sculpts.

That’s not a recent photo if you look at the time stamp in the right. I know they were in the SM post-show before but I don’t recognize where these repainted versions are now, anyone know?

Also apparently Kodak could only fork over half the bill which is why the upstairs Imageworks got shuddered and the ride was extremely simplistic and minimal.

You missed the Irons version by a couple years so perhaps if you went back before 2007 the experience would’ve been better.
