If you’re referring to the hole at the top, that was added during the 2007 installation of the blue lighting rigs. The space station capsule originally had top and behind access for the AA inside.

The Retromagic Cranium Command panel has been posted, there’s a really good clip at 59:29 showing Buzzy being programmed and dressed, showing a good size comparison of him.

Yeah Iger and D’Amaro were spotted taking a backstage tour of Imagination a while back but no concrete details about what it was for. Personally I’m in the camp of keeping Figment but revamping the ride to more of the original spirit, imo Figment is too big of an IP to be replaced.

The Glad to finally see it! Was definitely a very good presentation. In terms of the photos the money shot definitely has to be this rare photo of the right hand side of the communications center: We can finally see things clearly after years of very few murky video captures.

The classroom was in front of the riders in the same former space station room that the lights are in now, mounted to the back wall.

The infinity lighting is well before where the dioramas were. Those happened during the descent. The infinity lights occupy the space of the former space station scene, many people have posted photos of the remnants of that if you check out the “Spaceship in Spaceship Earth” thread.

Based on the presence of a ladder in this 2019 evacuation photo they were working on removing the figures a few years ago.

Most of that was removed long ago. The only known thing still there currently are the graduation silhouettes for the effect. Obviously the remains of the space station and scrapped moon cutouts are still at the top as well.

Originally there were fog machines on the floor in that room to simulate the water but they kept tripping ride sensors.

So apparently they showed footage of the chariot projection still working at Retromagic 40 which got an applause. Its now almost two months later and I’ve yet to see any good videos of the entire presentation or at least the SSE portion.

It used to be like that originally, super dark with fog machines.

Wouldn’t a magnetic track be hard to achieve with the ascent and descent of the ride?

The video could mean anything really, they’ve been teasing us about Figment for so long now that I don’t know what to believe. Maybe if someone with inside scoop comes forward we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on.

Funny enough a clip of Star Wars was added to the theater scene in 1986, well before Disney owned it.
