Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

We took the portions we got for our kids and put it in their college accounts, the rest went into savings. We try to do that with our tax returns too. I know a lot put it into student loans.

I always tell people Disney is more pleasant in summer. So much indoors with AC. Hollywood Studios is the exception, Toy Story Land and Star Wars land are rough.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I keep pushing our union to put in some language allowing staff to stack up personal days to travel off season like once every 5 years or something. The fact that Florida is the center of the sun in August means it’s the one time we’re off school where we get “deals” we make work. And heck it’s...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Makes a lot of sense. I haven’t been to Europe since high school and my last international trip was Brazil where spending 6k on flights was okay because our money went so far there plus we had free lodging. We plan to do Europe with the kids but with one still 3 years old it seems like so much...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I wonder if it has to do with time of year you travel. I teach so we are held strictly to times school is out.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

We even have family there so we wouldn’t have to eat every meal out and it’s still a lot.

I’ve wanted to believe this but anytime I price out Europe just the flights alone are about 70% of our total cost of Disney. Add in hotels, food, things to do, trains etc and it's like 5k more for us.

MK Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Agreed. It kind of reads as sexist to me. My kids didn't need my help recognizing Bayou Tiana and they'll probably want the doll or costume at some point. It's like when we had an Ariel Barbie but one of my daughters was desperate for one with Ariel with the tail.

News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Disney has much more indoor AC entertainment, shopping, etc than your average entertainment complex. So you could enjoy Disney even when it’s hot if you don’t overdo it.

Last summer they were trying to get people in the parks to go into Ogas. The CMs let me hang out in there with my then 2 year old while waiting for RS at Millenium Falcon. We didn’t buy anything but there was no one in there so they let us escape the heat.

MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Didn’t the tiki room set itself on fire too after a bad refurb?

MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

People stopped rope dropping Frontierland in general because Mine Train was most bang for your buck and all extra morning hours were isolated to fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Once the morning hours were common, we started rope dropping the other side of the park because the other areas weren’t...

MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Haha Splash was my favorite ride of all time. But nothing could replace it, so might as well let my kids enjoy this new whatever it is.. I’m honestly looking forward to the bromide smell and the view of MK where the birdhouses used to be. When they decided to close this, I knew to have zero...

MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Ya the 6 year old asked if we could ride Splash after we ride Tiana’s. In the past she’s been scared of hills.. like the tiny drop on Pirates and Frozen so her openness to riding is new. But maybe she’s just getting braver.

MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

While I don’t disagree with holding Disney to a standard I do think that part of what is missing in these discussions is seeing through a child’s eyes. I miss the Great Movie Ride terribly but I love Mickey because it’s fun but mostly because of the magic my kids have experienced riding it.

It makes me wish my 3 year old could ride.. would love to just watch her riding it

MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I haven’t watched the POV because I wanted a surprise, I might give in by the end of the day. But I gave it to my 6 year old to watch to tell me if she wants to ride it. She squealed “Tiana” multiple times and declared she wants to go on it because Mama Odie does rainbow magic. So anecdotally...

MK Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

Also the negativity doesn’t help anything. I’m a huge splash fan and thinking about the scenes they just showed of Tiana I felt unemotional whereas splash even just a clip of any of the music and I feel the emotion. But that’s because I have years of memories tied to that ride. And when I...

News Disney Legend Richard M. Sherman Passes Away At Age 95

Feed the Birds is the lullaby I have always sang to my girls and they still request it regularly. I tear up every vacation in the Once Upon a Toy shop when the instrumental version comes on... love all of the Sherman brothers work, but boy is that one special. We were lucky to have them.
