I can only speak to my experience in April. Rope dropping worked for us, we only waited about 40 minutes from the moment we joined the herd to getting on the ride. Then we were able to do a relatively short wait for the alien saucers (about 30 minutes I think).

I bought my TIW card at Epcot's Guest Services..... Have no idea why they wouldn't sell it as Disney Springs as well.

If you want to push your way to the barrier, just a couple of minutes early should do. They put on the show several times a day and it seems like the noise of the fireworks is what draws the larger crowd. It's not like the MK parades or a nighttime show where people stake out spots hours in...

You're right. You would only need the 5th ticket if you entered before 4 pm.

MK is the only true 2 day park. Unless you're binge drinking and sitting around eating all day, the other 3 parks are easy 1 day visits. Do you have park hoppers? If not, entering MK for MNSSHP will cost you one of the 5 days.

Now that I've had a taste of deluxe (Boardwalk) and moderate (Caribbean Beach), I don't think I could ever do a value again. So I've stayed at All-Star Movies a few times, but now I know I'll never stay at Pop, Art of Animation, All Star Music or All Star Sports.

If I didn't say it clearly, I bought the bucket in one park and used it in all of the parks, no problem. Used it over the course of a 10 day trip.

During my April trip we bought a bucket in one park and over the course of the rest of the trip got it refilled several times a day. Refills were $2. Kids loved it. Didn't get a new bucket during this last trip in July. Too hot to eat anything snack-wise except slushies and ice cream.

I used to get FPs in the afternoons when it was busy, but I've changed tactics lately. More recently, I get 3 big ticket FPs for 9, 10 and 11 am. Usually a combination of Peter Pan, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs or Big Thunder Mountain. I spend the rest of the day snagging...

Flying Fish is pretty awesome these days. And I've had very nice meals at Narcoossee's, the Wave and Trattoria al Forno recently as well.

Hollywood & Vine for dinner will probably be the same characters as Tusker House and Chef Mickey's. I've done all 3 for dinner. If you're looking for different characters, Crystal Palace has Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore - the food is standard WDW buffet stuff - carving station, salad bar...

For me it's a mindset - "let the mouse drive".

If you go during Veteran's Day weekend or immediately thereafter, most of the Christmas stuff is up. The MK Christmas parties usually start that week and unfortunately, they tend to film the ABC Christmas specials that week as well - I think it can mess up MK or HS a bit.

November. It's usually beautiful and warm enough to visit the pool, but not so humid to make everyone miserable. I'm from DC, so I'm used to hazy hot and humid, and I know how to manage it so I don't get sick.

In my experience, it makes no difference. My family traveled with another last April, they were on the dining plan and we weren't. I made reservations for all 8 of us. It was no problem when it was time to pay the bill.
